Need to gain weight
Well after 9 months of dieting I'm now down well into the normal range of my BMI and just 10lbs shy of my goal weight. I have had to diet and excercise and have found peertrainer very helpful.
My husband on the other hand is a string bean who never has to worry about his weight. He has recently been having knee pain and the doctor told him it's due to a lack of muscle in his legs and that he needs to work on building the muscle. The problem though as he explained it is my husband's metabolism is so fast he literally has no fat to burn (his bodyfat is in the 2% range) so when he is lifting weights and excecising his body has to burn muscle which is negating the process and also is what causes him to get his frequent hypogyclemic attacks. He is supposed to try to increase his calorie intake by 600-1000 calories per day and eat no less than 6-8 mini meals per day
Is there a board on here for those trying to eat more? He needs to work on upping his calorie intake (through healthy foods) and hitting the weights regularly (right now his major source of excercise is tennis 2x weekly). I have found this board so helpful and know it isn't strictly for dieters so any helpful groups out there???

Oh to have that problem!! :) After our first child, my husband, who also is very thin, lost even more weight. He started drinking protein shakes and kept up with his running and weight lifiting. That helped a lot. Hope you get some other good feedback.

protein shakes are good-also calorie dense and healthy foods like peanut butter, avocado's, whole grains, beans, eggs will help him gain weight slowly and healthily.
i don't know any sites or forums that address this issue but i'm sure one exists! good luck!
