actual weight gain or scale being mean?is it water?

I know that the scale isnt always the best judge because body/water weight fluctuates all the time... but I'm so attached to the number, my goaaaaal number. Which I reached this summer. Now as it gets colder I'm trying really hard not to let the scale creep back up. I'm still consuming the same number of calories, I'm being even more active maybe, or atleast not so much less that it would make a difference( I'm not running 4x a week but instead I'm doing the elliptical daily). The only thing I can think that has changed is I've started drinking TONS of tea. Maybe 10 12oz mugs a day. I've been doing it to keep warm so that I'm not more inclined to snack, and I know that this would ofcourse raise my weight throughout the day....but how long does the water stay in my system. For the past week I've had I guess about 130 oz of water daily and I weigh in in the morning...this morning I am 4 pounds above my normal range:( could this be my body storing all the water? what gives?
Also just another tid bit, maybe 3 of the teas I add a table spoon of fat free half and half ( 20 cals) to...the rest is plain. I've been consuming alot of splenda as well... gas?bloat? muscle? my clothes fit the same....but I want my number back!

What kind of tea (or teas) are you drinking? Regular black tea? Green tea? Some sort of herbal tea? The type of tea might also make a difference.

If you have recently increased your exercise routine, there was a thread that discussed this type of temporary weight gain. Here's a link to the thread:
