no pain no gain?
Is it true what they say about "no pain, no gain?" Do your muscles have to be a little sore the next day to know that you're building new muscle or can you build new muscle and not feel the day or two after twinge of having worked out? I ask because I did a lot of toning yesterday and I felt muscle fatigue at the time. Today, I feel fine. Is that a good thing? :-)

Are you sure you're not sore? I've done this very thing only to have someone playfully punch my shoulder and YEE-OW! Not sure if what you describe is a good thing or not, just saying sometimes it sneaks up on you.. Happy lifting!

I do the express circuit routine at my gym, where you do only 30 seconds of each exercise before you switch to something different. I've never felt soreness from this routine, even when I first started doing it. I read recently that frequent changes in muscles used prevents DOMS ("Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness"). By the way, I am getting results, even without soreness -- my biceps and calf muscles are noticeably more cut -- very cool!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I may have spoken too soon. After sitting at my desk job all day, I feel my glutes tightening up (proving that the 5 million or so lunges I did last night must have had SOME effect after all!).
