How many people listen to Music or watch TV during a workout
I don't like the distraction and concentrate on the actions that I am trying to complete. I am usually able to block out the noise and focus on what I need to do. The exception is the spin class, since music is a part of the class, I try to do the best I can to concentrate on form.

I watch tv and listen to music, sometimes at the same time if the tv has closed-captioning. I really use the beat of the music to keep up a good pace, and the tv is a good distraction so I don't notice how long I've been exercising!

Yes, I definitely watch TV while on the treadmill. Otherwise the boredom would drive me crazy. Also, I've been using workout videos lately to add some variety to my other routines, so sometimes the TV *is* my workout. My gym plays music off and on, and I find that I much prefer the music being on.

I watch TV. If I try to ride my elliptical without any distraction I get bored after 15 minutes, with TV I can ride for an hour.

I listen to my iPod, every time I feel like stopping during my runs another great song comes on and I run another mile! Can't run without it!

I don't go to the gym without my mp3 player. No motivation to stay on the treadmill if I don't have music pushing me on. There's a mirror near the treadmill, so I can always check my form.

on a trademill i sometimes turn on tv with no sound nor cc. i just use the images to internalize... sometimes the black and white dots are enough sometimes hot girls help motivate.
music is good too but it does distract me if i'm working hard (speed training, HIIT etc.)

I take my MP3 player and sometimes look at the TV while doing cardio. What realy burns me though is women (all women's gym) that get on the ONLY elliptical and then flip through magazies or chat with other people in the gym. One woman even answers her cell phone. They are sometimes on the elliptical for over 45 minutes, just chatting away. I'm sure they are getting some benefit out of their exercise but I come to the gym to WORK OUT and am frustrated when they seem to just leisurely take up the only elliptical.
