Go for a walk, get out of the house, go to a bookstore, call a friend, see a movie or one of my favs, go have a cup of joe somewhere and people watch. Sounds like you could use a hobby or join some sort of class. Go on-line and chat with others.

All those things you list sound rather solitary and sedentary. I totally get into stuff like that - it makes others climb the walls. Definitely see if you can find a class, a group of folks to meet for coffee 'n discussion, maybe a stich 'n bitch group or even a 'healthy' cooking club. Getting out and exercising with others is a great way to be social and active at the same time. Look for others near you with the same healthy goals as you and help keep each other occupied! then the solitary activities won't seem so much boring as quiet time for yourself.

I agree on the walk idea!

It's such a great time of year, go for a walk in a nice area and collect leafs then decorate your home with them!

volunteer

may i recommend volunteering? help others, help yourself (get off the couch and on your feet), meet people....

interestingly, i volunteer in a soup kitchen with a woman who is trying to lose 100lbs, and her doctor recommendeded this particular kind of volunteering to refocus her relationship with food on nourishment, as opposed to something she eats when bored, tired, or upset.

if you happen to live in new york, i recommend God's Love We Deliver...it's a wonderful, well-run, friendly organization that provides over 1500 meals a day to people living with serious illnesses who cannot provide food for themselves. incidentally, it's where i volunteer. :)

elsewhere, check out the below URL....it's a great resource of volunteer opportunities
