Bench press with Herniated disc

I have recovered from a herniated lumbar disc and want to resume bench pressing. Where should I place my feet? Before the injury I was putting my feet on the bench. One of the trainers at the gym told me this can be putting stress on my lower back She advised me to use risers fro the yoga classes. Any suggestions??

I'd suggest using the nautilus-type machines to work your chest -- the seated position will remove any need to worry about the position of your back.

OP here...I've ben told to avoid all seated positions as that compresses the lower spine

You should ask a physical therapist. You will get different answers from different trainers. Be safe don't screw up your recovery and ask a PT.
