argh bloat.

As a way to help me resist cravings and binging I've begun chewing sugar free gum. the probllllem is that the gum reacts badly with my stomach and I get super bloated from it ( its the xylitol and sorbital and all of the artificial sweetners argh). However its really helped drop the pounds. when I wake up in the morning before I've had any gum during the day, I see that my weight on the scale is going down. But once I chew the gum my stomach balloons and I feel huge. So I'm losing the wieght yet my weightloss tool is making me look bigger, which is discouraging and makes me feel like I'm not getting anywhere. the point is to feel better about my body, but the bloat sorta cancels that out. This is the first thing thats really helped curb my cravings...but it isnt worth it is it?

I understand

I can't have alot of artificial sweetners either. My suggestion to you would be to replace the gum with something else for one day and see if it works the same. Or take an anti bloat medication in the morning. I have IBS with constipation(sorry I know TMI LOL) and that apparently causes severe bloating so that is what was causing mine, now I am on medicine for it and I am never bloated and actually lost almost 6 inches from my waist just from the bloat going away. I hope that helps and if you would like to know the symptoms just let me know and I will post the ones I was having.

Maybe try chewy ginger candy, or dried fruit or something like that? I have the same problem with sorbitol, very frustrating... Also, I like the flavored kiddie lipgloss, it satisfies the oral fixation for me (the M&Ms chocoalte ones are great).
