After just a couple weeks of exercise . . .

I've been exercising regularly for two weeks now, and am amazed by the benefits I'm already feeling!

I currently weigh 245. Each morning I do a 1/2 hour exercise tape, alternating between yoga and toning/weight work, and each day I take my dog for a 45 minute walk (approx 2 miles).

Here are some of the benefits I'm feeling:
- I used to wake up every morning with my back hurting. After a week, my back stopped hurting!
- My core feels stronger and in better alignment, so I can breathe more fully and move better.
- I have begun to actually look forward to my workouts! They have improved my mental state, putting me in a more positive, relaxed frame of mind.
- I have more energy throughout the day. As a result, I actually get more accomplished each day, even though I'm devoting an hour and fifteen minutes to exercise.
- I've already seen an improvement in my heart rate, especially when walking up hills.
- My clothes are looser and the scale is moving in the right direction!

So I thought I'd post this to hopefully give some inspiration to those who are looking to start a fitness program - you can look forward to reaping some benefits very quickly!

OP--thanks for a good, motivational post in the spirit of this site! So much more interesting and useful than yet another "lose vs. loose" comment (even irritates me and I teach English!) or discussion about plastic surgery!

Good for you hun you should really go look at the "you on a diet " by Dr OZ. Your basically doing it already, its amazing how adding walking to your life can make a difference. He did a test on people and they walked atleast 10,000 steps a day and some tone exercises and it went so far as for one man that had diabetes is now healthy as an ox no health problems anymore. Its a very neat , basic program. You keep it up and in three months you'll have lost some inches just by the walking.

op: you have provided me with some much needed inspiration. i read many postings about the success some have achieved, but mostly they all started out as much thinner than me. you are much closer to my starting weight and now that you have told me it's possible to find results, i will be putting more energy into getting fit!! thanks for the encouragement! and keep up the good work!

Thank you OP! Very positive. I, too, had neck, and back issues every morning. I have been working out regularly for about a year now, and I haven't had those aches since the week I started!

I have been exercising regularly now for about two years. Before I began, my back was hurting and I used to get really bad headaches. Since I've been exercising, I almost never get a headache and my back rarely hurts. I did hurt my back once by trying to lift too much weight. Since then, I use lighter weights and do more reps. Anyway, I was going to say that even if you don't lose a lot of weight, it's still worth exercising because it just makes you feel so much better. When I leave the gym, I feel stronger, taller and I feel like I've accomplished something.
