Anyone on Welbutrin XL?
I've been suffering pretty badly from depression these past months and I've been hesitant to go on meds out of fear that it will effect my weight. I hear Welbutrin has no weight gain side effects....anyone on it?

I have been on it successfully two times. No weight gain either time. And, since I am a stress eater, I probably eat less to cope with feelings since I am happier/more relaxed on medication.

I have been on it for over a year. No weight gain, in fact it actually increases your energy level after about 4-6 weeks.

I was on it, no problems. The first few nights I did have STRANGE dreams, but that ceased and it actually helped me.

If you have been suffering from a mental condition for months, please do not make weight gain you top priority when choosing a medication. The drugs act on different brain chemicals, and this one may not in fact be right for you. Discuss this in depth with your doctor. Tell him that weight gain or increased appitite (which is what actually leads to most weight gain when using anti-delpressants) is a concern to you and he/she will take this on board. Please tread carefully with doctors who will give you the depressant of your choice without intense consultation. These drugs alter the chemistry of your brain, nothing more, nothing less. It is a big step to make and should be taken with caution and adequate information. I hope you are able to find something, be it medicinal or otherwise to help you. I know the struggles of depression well, and my thoughts are with you. Al the best.
