Artificial sweeteners - safe maximums

The March issue of Women's Health has a really good article about the three major fake sugars. The FDA has actually set safety guidelines for each sweetener - this was news to me, figured it might be useful to a few of my fellow Peertrainers since this subject frequently pops up here. Based on a 150-lb adult, it's okay to consume daily:

8.5 packets of Sweet-n-Low
87 packets of Equal/Nutrasweet (or 0 if aspartame gives you headaches)
25 packets of Splenda

I'd include a link to the article, but a quick look at their website didn't produce their March articles (yet).

I'm sure I'm not alone in my surprise that it's okay to eat more Equal than Splenda!

Splenda / Equal/Nutrasweet

That was very interesting. I was also shocked to see Splenda consumption needs to be less then Equal/Nutrasweet. I guess we all hear Splenda is the healthier way to go from ads. thanks for the info!
