tanning

is anyone familiar with the spray on tan or a lotion that tints. I love having a tan but know the dangers of tanning beds and the sun. Any info would be nice

I just started using the jergens tanning lotion (daily moisturizer). I'll let you know how it works in another week!

I tried some stuff from Avon - very blotchy results so I discontinued. Perhaps there are better techniques but I really couldn't tell how much I was applying, how much as staying on my legs, etc.

I used Jergens daily tinted moisturizer last summer and found that it streaked. Amazing since it flew off the shelves . I have really liked Aveda Sun Source and Lancome Flash Bronzer. Loreal also has a good one but the gel, which dries quickly, seems to streak more than the lotion.

Try a few brands to see which one complements your skin tone best. I like Loreal sublime bronze. If you buy one that is tinted to start with, you can see it as you apply to see if it is going on even. Exfoliate for several days prior to using it, apply evenly in a thin layer (I find a circular motion works best), mix with a bit of lotion for places where your skin is thicker, like knees, elbows, and heels. Let it dry and apply another thin layer if you like. Don't get sweaty or wet for a few hours. Wash your hands really well afterward, especially the fingernails. I think the tinted daily ones, like Jergens, are streaky because I am not as careful with the application, and they don't have as much tanner in them.

You could also try the spray on tans done at tanning salons? I have friends that do it and it isn't outrageously priced and looks very natural.

Nutragena (sp?) spray tanner. It looks the most natural on me. I am very fair-skinned.

I love the neutrogena brand. Doesn't smell as bad as the others either.
