op here- i always thought you had to be a member to post, until i read the thread in which the op is not a member. hence, the poll. honestly, i am very surprised that just anyone can waltz onto the site and say what they want. maybe that's why there are so many comments that are unsupportive and outright derogatroy? because people are not truly interested in supporting each other, they're just bouncing around the 'net looking to create trouble?

i have a log-in name, but i am not in any groups or teams. i do log my food in my own "group of one".
i think you need to have at least a log-in name to comment though. once i was on the computer at the library and wanted to add a comment and was prompted to "please log in".

yeah, on most sites that is the case. but apparently not this one. there is a thread that was started by someone who is not a member. if you are not a member, you do not have a user or log-in name. i am aware of how most member driven sites work with respect to having to sign in before commenting, that's why i am confused about this site.

They ARE a member - they have a login and password. They are not a member of any GROUPS and were confused as to whether or not they could post if that were the case.
Go ahead and log out and try posting without a login/password. That ought to prove your theory one way or the other.

you gotta have a username to post a comment. not sure why there is debate about it.
