Great Book to Check Out

Dr. Fuhrman Eat to Live.
Fantastic book, I've dropped 30lbs since January using this style. Advocates not eating processed foods, and mainly a vegan diet. Just a FYI! Also, I love Skinny Bitch; funny, informative, and well-written!

Hi. Bringing back this thread to see how the OP is doing now? I have read a lot of "Eat to Live" and I'm thinking about using his plan. I have been eating vegan for weeks, but incorporate lots of vegan junk food. I think this may be keeping my weight-loss a the rate it's been (slow). My question is (to the OP or anyone else who has followed this plan) Once you lose the weight, can you get to the point where you can follow it less strictly (like have vegan junk food almost daily-like soy ice-cream and vegan cookies)?

I think the hardest part about maintaining, no matter what plan or way of eating you follow, is not slipping back into old, bad habits. As with most things, adding those things back in, but doing so in moderation, will be better in the long run! Daily cookies and ice cream usually don't equate to success when it comes to permanent weight loss :( But, hey, if you can control the calorie intake - more power to you! Some people are able to have that daily treat, but they are also able to limit their portions...gawd, how I envy them!!!
