Could you just eat one small slice instead? I don't believe in depriving myself so if I have a craving I eat what I want in moderation. Good luck!

That word "moderation" makes me laugh. How do you measure moderation anyway. Someone who used to drink 6 cans of soda a day cuts down to 1 and calls it moderation. But, there are studies that show even 1 can of soda a day significantly increases your risk for diabetes. I think it's just a free pass to eat what you want and the reality is you can't. You are depriving yourself of good health if you always give in to cravings. Learn self-control instead or learn to make your favorite foods fit into your plan.

Moderation Is Subjective

You can only fight the cravings to an extent.
If you deprive yourself too often, you end up binging and regretting it twice as bad later.
I love chocolate, and keep the reese peanut butter mini cups around. After lunch or dinner I have 1 - it fixes my craving without going overboard and blowing my diet.

Moderation is something you have to work at. It's great that you can have 1 peanut butter cup AND keep them near you without eating all of them. Even getting to that point is hard as hell for a lot of people. Get your resistance muscle in control and then you can be strong enough to have 1 piece of your favorite foods at a time.

Thats what I have found..if I deprive myself, I WILL binge...so I'm sticking to a piece of licorice..or a LITTLE something sweet.

Sigh. I hear you OP. I am always hungry. Seriously, at any point in the day I could probably sit down and eat 4 slices of pizza, even if I just had a reasonable dinner. It's ridiculous.

I never deprive myself...because then I will eat all types of stuff to try to fullfill my craving. Which never does. So instead I work the calorie's into my day. If I spend the calories on Pizza for lunch, then I have to stay within my range for the rest of the day. Plus I might add a lil bit of extra excercise to work a few of those calories off. Eat a piece of two with lots of water... :)

Did you have the pizza?

I'm not sure if people should try to quit eating "bad foods" or if they should just try the moderation thing. All people say something different. I guess that is why we're all here. To figure out these things together :)

It is good to know that we're all working through the same issues and finding solutions with the help of complete strangers. I'm new to peer trainer and I think it's wonderful and I just want to know what the poster ultimately chose.

Don't Fight the Urge!!!

Acknowledge it and agree with yourself that you will have that pizza you want so badly..... Tomorrow... yes... harness the power of procrastination.. give in to the urge... but... do it tomorrow.
