Tough Being Young and Overwight
i wonder if people ever relize how hard ing
it is for teenagers these days beig overweight in high school.
Dont wanna play a sport or try out for one because they wont pick you because you think your too fat. Being the slowest, always outa breath.
Can't eat at lunch afraid kids will watch say, "She doesn't need food!"
Cant fit in desks.
always huffing and puffing.
Being picked on.
Its so ridiculous.

Of course we understand -- it was absolutely no different 10, 20, 30 years ago.

I can imagine and this is something I think about all the time.
I also get disgusted with the mom's in my community that work out every day, eat salads for every meal, wear a size 2, and feed their kids enough crap to make them overweight.

High school can be a hard time for lots of people, no matter what their weight is. Not to make light of your feelings if you're talking about yourself.
Think about this: You have YOUTH on your side! A teenage metabolism is much higher than an older person's. If you made a sensible diet and exercise plan and stuck to it, you would see results quickly. It would be hard at times but you have your whole life ahead of you. Wouldn't it be better to change yourself now instead of 20 years from now?

I think that if this program gets spread around it will be a great thing for youth as well as adults. Most of the people on here seem to be promoting health and lifestyle which from a young age can make your life better. It is tough being in high school but it can be done!

I'd be more concerned about your grammar and spelling problems than your weight at this point.

to the above... can we just be supportive?! why does it always have to go back to grammar and spelling on this site? it is driving me nuts!

I'm a new poster. The one above you is right. Let's use a capital letter to begin a sentence. Let's use the proper punctuation. It makes it easier to help.

9:15 I hope you're being sarcastic.

No, I don't think they are. Did you notice that the thread about punctuation and grammar has reappeared? Some people just don't want to give it up and remember why we are all here. We log onto Peertrainer to be supportive and helpful about weight loss. We all come from different backgrounds, educationally, etc. We are not here to continue to pick on people, especially a person (OP) who has already stated that people tease them at lunch during school.

I posted about the grammar in this instance, but not for perfection, just for improvement. The education and learning efforts of this youth, seem to me, more important than weight struggles -- why add additional strikes to yourself? Fact is, if you aren't handsome, pretty or popular - you better have something in your head.
