Yes - Rosie is a die hard in your face liberal, and Elizabeth is a die hard in your face conservative. They clash. But this was the first time Elizabeth stood up for herself. It makes for great TV. But Elizabeth should take it easy, she is pregnant after all.

The best part is that Donald Trump hopped into the mess again. Elizabeth said something un-nice about him (I *think* she was shouting about how it's easier for Rosie to insult someone as stupid as Donald Trump, or something along those lines), so he called her the dumbest person on television. I guess he doesn't watch much tv, but religiously watches The View? I love it.

The show came on while I was working out, so watched it, when I would have otherwise not. It seemed like Rosie was way over the top on her comments and emotion. Elizabeth had a good point and stood up for herself for a change. I think Rosie has worn out her welcome on the show. She is gone as of today.

just because rosie might benefit from peertrainer does not mean that she doesn't make valid points. the comment from 320 seems to insituate that she isn't worth discussing because she is heavy.

I think the explosive point was some snippy little "observation" Rosie made about the definition of terrorism. She very obviously implied that America/American forces were terrorists - "650,000 Iraqis dead. Who are the terrorists now? Hm?" Rosie apparently got flak in the media for the insinuation. I missed the show after that, when apparently Elizabeth gave Rosie a chance to explain her way out of it, and then in this third show, that became a huge point of contention, "who gives you the right to treat me like a 1st grader", etc. (from Rosie, about Elizabeth "giving" an opportunity).

To the OP, regarding the pregnancy comment... Right after Elizabeth announced her pregnancy, Rosie said she'd back off heated political debate because she would not upset a pregnant woman. Believe it or not, that remark also made news/entertainment media outside the program. I'm surprised it took so long to break her promise. After all, I understand that Rosie lost her 90s talk show because she wouldn't stop banging on about politics (I think as they related to Columbine, but I could be wrong).

For the record, I love Rosie (especially the imitation of Trump that got her into that feud a couple of months back) - except when she gets on her political high horse. Not because I agree or disagree with what she says (depends on the issue - I'm not a die-hard anything), but I get annoyed with the righteous way she goes about it and shouts everyone down because she has such a booming voice.

3:20 PM poster here...

I did not mean that because she's heavy she's not worth listening to. Hearing her shrilling voice and wild accusations are enough not to listen to her.

Go Lizzy!

I'm not even 100% sure what the topic is about. I would assume it is about Rosie & her liberal thoughts...& that is OK. I'm not here to argue the actual topic at hand. I am however here to state, I am SOOOO over Rosie that I can't even listen to her voice. It goes right through me. She is always jumpin' around, flappin her arms and flippin her hair. I can't even look at her. Not because of all the reasons that "The Donald" rambles about, but because she doesn't let you breathe. She just wants you to hear herself talk. I appreciate having passion, but sit down, say less, LISTEN and calm your rear end down. I'm glad that Elizabeth stood up for herself. You go girl! Go GIANTS!

I actually like Rosie way back when, even before her own show. But she has become way over the top. Is is to liberal, she can't hear anyone else's view or opinions. What she said about the 650,00 Iraqi's being killed and who are the terrorist, in my view implies we are the terrorist, our troops and anyone who supports them, regardless of whether they support the war or not. We are not terrorist. I think her passion is bullshit and she just likes to be in the spotlight. I can't stand her anymore, her opinions are very narrow and she is way to judgmental. Personally, she should have stuck to comedy.

O'Donnel vs Hasselback

The reason I love the View so much with Rosie, Elizabeth, Barbara and Joy is that it's like dinner with my extended family. Everyone's gonna have strong opinions and think they're right, someones gonna get pissed off and we all know we're still stuck with each other in the end so we get over it. This is the only show on TV that has real opinions just like us...not some blow hard professional know it all telling us what to think. I wish Congress and the Senate would actually duke it out like these ladies do; at least then I would know they were really passionate about something, not just being poitically correct! Love her or hate her, Rosie has real opinions just like the rest of us, and Elizabeth is no push over either. They should hug it out and move on...and ABC should keep our them right where they are!

Rosie is just like Rush Limbaugh to me. I don't care how appropriate either of their points are, their presentation is so offensive and over the top that people stop listening. Sometimes a whisper has far greater impact than a shout. We are not stupid people and we certainly don't need someone hitting us over the head with their view being presented as the ONLY valid view! Just because someone doesn't agree with your opinion doesn't make them stupid.

to answer 10:43...

You are right; I mentioned her size and pointed out that she should use PeerTrainer. At no point did I ever mention her crazy out in left field thoughts did I? I mentioned her size and again pointed out she could benefit from PT.
It wasn't until after you so eloquently pointing out to me that I subcontinuously hate Rosie, that I mentioned she's also a nut job... SO again, back to my original comment, Rosie could use PT. Nuf Said!

11:44: I think you are right on that one. I am usually Team Rosie. If you go to her website - rosie.com - you will see that she is a genuine woman who loves her family and her fans and is extremely passionate about what she believes. I think she's hilarious and its great how she reaches out to her fans. And there's nothing wrong with being passionate and she does present many valid ideas. But its her presentation. She is bitter and aggressive. She is too over the top to begin with and then when someone reacts she becomes way too defensive. I think its a shame because she's very intelligent.

Having said that - I only started watching The View when Rosie joined because she stirred things up and made it relevant and definitely entertaining. I hope that The View will not become watered down and politically correct because its lack of censoring and diversity of opinion is what made it so refreshing to watch.

Rosie and Elizabeth

I will always have the soul of a soldier. I served in 1991 at the Dover Mortuary.
I watched the dead soldiers come throught the door and I xrayed the dead bodies, and I cried many tears. I think if Rosie and Elizabeth could have seen what I saw, and how it still affects my life when I turn on the tv and they say another US soldier died today, what I visualize. They both may have a different perspective.

it's true, though, that through the eyes of many an iraqi civilian, the americans ARE the terrorists. if another country went into america and, for the sake of freeing the people from an overbearing government inadvertantly killed over 1/2 a million people, what would you call them? freedom-fighters? heroes? rosie's comment was misconstrued because SHE was the one who said it. if barbara walters said that the americans are seen as terrorists by some iraqis, it may have opened up a discussion about the impact the war is having on the iraqi civilians in contrast to the impact the war is having on american civilians and allowed the opportunity to have an adult conversation about the issue. instead, the point was lost and has now once again put rosie in the spotlight in yet another social/political drama. the squeaky wheel gets the most grease, but the other three wheels are also having a hard time moving the vehicle forward.

The fact is the US is in there insofar as their own interests are concerned - oil. They don't care about the freedom of the people of iraq, and what the US military is doing is nothing short of genocide under the pretense of "freedom preservation".

I have to say I never was into Rosie when she had her own show..I don't know why, but I wasn't...however, that all changed when she started on the View. I have to say , it was just really refreshing to hear a woman on t.v. state what she really thought (even if you didn't agree with it )..to just not play the young pretty eye candy role ..seriously , she really said what she believed..I think she is one of the first t.v. host's I've actually seen spout honest opinion's about stuff..and I loved it ! it became the main reason I watched the view.

2:16 (among others)...hello, our troops didn't murder 650,000 Iraqis. You'll notice it's always "650,000 Iraqis killed since the US invaded" and not "US troops have killed 650,000 Iraqis". BIG DIFFERENCE.

That figure is mostly them killing each other, but the American press phrases it to make the prez look worse than he is and the foreign press rejoices in any opportunity to make Americans look worse than we are.

Rosie v Elizabeth

I think Rosie herself was very cowardly. She took her off handed- insuation filled remark and used it as the litmus for whether EH would defend her as a troop supporting individual against all the conservative pundits. If Rosie would've spoken clearly to begin with - she would not have had to rely on others to explain her 'insinuations' and set up others by deflecting over to EH's failure to defend a friend. Rosie's remarks were not that veiled so as to leave speculation and if they were misinterpreted Rosie is loud enough to be heard correcting the situation.

2:16 - If we were there for oil, don't you think we'd have just taken it? We are powerful enough to do that, and it would actually be a lot easier than trying to assist in the creation of a peaceful existence in Iraq. And obviously, participating in a war there has not improved our situation with regard to oil.

We (the majority of voters) elected George W. Bush because we trusted him to be our leader. We as Americans do not have access to the same information that he does. It would not be in our best interests as a nation to release all the information that we have. That's why we elect someone we trust to act on what is available. We live in an age where we think we can get 100% accurate information on demand. Sorry. Not True. Most of what we get is opinion - occasionally skewed by fact.

Whether you support Bush or not, whether you support the war or not, or whether you support our troops or not -- I don't see much fact to support the idea that Bush invaded for oil. That's just some hollywood starlet's version of fact. Don't fall for it.

george w. bush was never elected, not the first time he became president and not the second time he became president. he was APPOINTED president. secondly, are you serious that you think we could just waltz into a country and "take" their oil? because "we are powerful enough to do that" ??!! c'mon. we are powerful enough to end the gang wars in LA, to refocus the war on drugs to a war on poverty, we are powerful enough to assist our own in the aftermath of Katrina & Rita...but the gov't turns a blind eye to these domestic issues and instead spends unfathomable amounts of our tax $$'s and our children's tax $$'s to continue playing with the lives of our nations heroes. you're right that this is not strictly about oil, it's also about gaining a foothold in one of the most contentious regions in the world. and we are obviously not powerful enough as a collective whole to recognize that, and we will not be able to change things over there until we do realize that.

Like 9:00 points out, you can't just take the oil. It is not a toy in the backyard that you can have a temper tantrum about and pick up and take from your next door neighbour. It is about protecting the oil "interests" not improving them. If the US military was not standing up and down along the oil lines they would have been destroyed by now, hiking the ever popular increasing prices even higher and overnight.
What do you think the original war with Saddam was about with Georgie B senior?????????????????????? Iraq's invasion into Kuwait - for what ????? OIL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was started out about terrorism, and has been turned into a one man puppet show with way too many people dying - on both sides.

I always thought Rosie was addicted to any political topic and always tried to turn the tide against Republicans, no matter how stupid she looked for doing it. This became even more obvious when Elizabeth was praising Laura Bush for giving up cigarettes (a major feat millions of Americans, including myself, have or are trying to overcome). Rosie immediately turned it into a 'nobody knew she was a smoker... what else are they hiding' conversation. Politics aside, if a person quits smoking after years and years of addiction, that is to be commended.

As for the 650,000 people killed in Iraq:
A) It's Iraqi's killing Iraqi's. The Americans are killing the Iraqi's that are killing the Iraqi's (you follow?)
B)It's war... people die. I wish the American media (liberals) would stop portraying America to be the bad guy. Every evening "12 American soldiers were killed today..." yeah, but how many Jihaad's did they take out? How many members of Al Queda were killed... we never hear about that, do we? I know soldiers who have been there... The Iraqi people we originally went there to help want us there and are afraid of what will happen when we leave. How can we abandon them now?

Of course our president was elected, BOTH times. Thank God for that.
You can't see the good that our country isn't just trying to do, but really IS doing in Iraq, because you might have to look a little harder to find the truth. The media would rather you see all of the negative things - that's how it has always been. Good news is no news, especially when the media is so biased to the left. Go 2:42! Go Elizabeth! Rosie and many others in Hollywood give aid and comfort to our enemies and encourage them to continue their quest with comments like "who are the terrorists?". The elections were stolen? - please! That's just sour grapes. Do you believe the WTC conspiracy too?
