Good Things to Say About FitDay Diet Management Software

Last week my clunky old DietBalancer software became corrupted and unusable for the 4th or 5th time in the past year, as best I can recall. I can go in and piece it back together without the loss of too much info, but am becoming disheartened with trying to use it---never know when it will go down again.

When this happened the second time last summer, I bought a copy of FitDay and tried it for awhile. I was very busy at work then, however, and didn't really have the time to play with it enough to be comfortable. So I waited until I finished my out-of-town assignment, then patched up DietBalancer again.

I thought the problem was really related to the laptop computer I was using while out-of-town but that I would be OK with DietBalancer on my desktop computer.

This time, though, I have had enough. This is the second time in just over a month, both of them on my desktop computer.

I have now switched over to FitDay and am really very pleased with it. It is a very powerful, versatile software---much more depth to it than DietBalancer.

I'm still learning the software, and I will have to re-enter a lot of the special foods I use, but the trade-off for a more powerful and reliable software seems worth it. And I can still get into DietBalancer to print out info on the special foods, recipes I entered---I just can't enter diet info into DietBalancer anymore!

So, for what it is worth, if anyone reading this needs a good diet management software, I heartily recommend FitDay.

i use fitday.com to keep accurate counts of my calories... i don't use the actual software as all i use are Macs and it's PC only. i'm really happy with the internet based interface, but i'm sure i'd also use the software if it were avail for mac.

As an educated guess, the post above appears to be from Carrieanne. If not, my apologies to the actual poster. And thanks for your comment.

In any case, I tried the online version of FitDay when I first started with PeerTrainer nearly 2 years ago. As I recall, I got my first info on the availability of FitDay from a post by Carrieanne---and she used a Mac.

Macsweetie,

My apologies. From the way you post and your comment about using a Mac, I suspected that Carrieanne had left it.

Sorry for jumping to conclusions---something a good engineer should never do!

Terribly embarrassing when one does and is wrong---especially when other people are involved.

macsweeti here- don't beat yourself up about it... there's no way you would have known who wrote the comment, that's what happens on an anonymous thread. and i wasn't offended in anyway... i'm just happy to hear there's other mac users out there! and if you want less problems with your OS, i suggest checking them out! ;o)

I really liked FitDay PC when I had it on my old computer. FitDay online is just too slow for me. If for some reason you can't afford FitDay ($20 now I think) or use a Mac, there is a freeware, opensource, cross platform program called CRON-o-meter that will give you lots of information. It's not as pretty and doesn't have the fitness info yet, but gives good analysis and has a very large database that you can add foods and recipes to.

Fitday.com!

I LOVE Fitday.com and log onto it multiple times a day. I've been using it for years! I love that it's free and that it's accessible from any computer anywhere in the world, something you miss by buying the actual software. Mobility makes it a great asset!

I'm the OP. There is a lot I like about using FitDay Online, and I have tried it.

As I recall, however, I was in a situation where my dial-up connection was only slightly faster than the Pony Express! It was really frustrating to try and keep a log this way.

The portability of FitDay Online would have been a real asset to me, had I been able to make it work, as I have worked out of town most of the past year, then commuted back home on weekends. It was a real hassle for me to keep track of my diet using two different computers and two different installations of DietBalancer.

I had FitDay as the software and forgot all about it until this thread came up! Now I am starting to use it again. I had forgotten how helpful it was to keep track of my weight, calories & exercise.
Thanks for the thread!!

Such applications are really important because people can watch their health with it and I find it very significant. However, there are many different apps and even the projects of https://otakoyi.com/solutions/outsourcing are so different and this is very difficult to choose.

As for me, I don't like diets at all, I believe that it would be better to do some sport exercises.

It's always great when developers know for who their app is aimed for. Cause if you don't know your audience then in the end nobody gonna use your app, since it fits nobody. Here is an article about examples of user personas, that helped me to understand more concepts of app/website development.

I think that check their website is crucial for graduating from any university. Every student should know how to write and I think you should be able to do it, too. I would recommend you to take some extra classes or enroll in additional course.
