It Does Get Easier...

...If you try to eat protein when you are craving something. Grab a boiled egg or a peice of cheese or a handful of nuts when you are hungry. Stay away from white bread and sweets until your cravings subside. Focus on the feeling... are you hungry or thirsty? Try a diet soda instead. Good luck! The first 2 weeks are the hardest.

My method is a bit different: If the hunger pangs hit - I'll have some raw veg or fruit - something with crunch and a lot of fiber. If that alone isn't enough, have a bit of hummus (make your own,it's easy, cheap and much less fat) with the veg. Make sure your meals have lots of fiber too. Beans are tremendous for keeping you full - fiber AND protein. Those roasted soynuts are also good as a snack if you find you respond to protein more - also protein + fiber. I definitely agree with stay away from the white bread and sugar and other refined crap. Not so much with the diet cola thing - all kinds of junk in that + it's good to retrain your taste buds to like healthy food and beverages.
