The GOD squad returns? I thought they left us.

He is not going to help me. His way is not my way. Please, spare me the sermon.

Funny, I didn't notice any preaching until someone felt the need to rip another person's way. I thought we all had a right to choose and express our own thoughts. If one way works for someone who am I to say its wrong? And who are you for the sarcasm?

So, let me get this straight- it's not rude to proselytize at people, but it is rude to anti-proselytize. Got it.

How horrible it must be to be an opressed member of the majority religion. I mean, how do you guys get by? It must be tough having your major holidays recognized as federal days off, and people must look at you like freaks when you walk down the street. I bet they often cross to the other side because you scare them so much. Wow. I feel for you, poor opressed christian who's faith is so easily challenged by snarky comments.

WHO CARES!?!?!

Wow...it seems that there are people so focused on their anger that they are just not willing to leave people alone. If you don't believe in God, what do you care if someone is asking him (or her) for help? Why does it matter so much? What is the resentment about? Let people use what helps them get through their weight loss and you use what gets you through yours.

PS- I am NOT a christian. I am a person who wants to be more involved in my weight loss than someone's religious beliefs.

Wow

I cannot believe that talking about God invokes such anger and nastiness. My own reasons for losing weight and gaining control is that I can no longer serve two masters, and if many of us obese are honest with ourselves, we are deitizing food, making food our God, and many of us need help finding our way back to the source that can heal us; but that does not mean we want Him to do all the work, we just need a little guidance. Lets all just be a little kinder, please.

Not all Christians put on a better than you are act. The ones who do that are an embarrassment to Christianity. They are afraid of anything and anybody who do not believe as they do. Instead of learning to live with it, they would rather use their energies to defeat anything and anybody different from them.
Don't know how this got started unless it is about the Weigh Down program. I have lost 50 lbs but it was not through a Christian based diet program. I am a Christian and belong to an UM church. That took me years to find. Mostly, I do not want to be around other Christians. I would rather be at a gay pride parade than a Christian rally.

10:48 you are nasty human being! That is an honest observation from a non partisan person so don't even think of trying to redeem yourself by slinging anti christian jargon! There is such a double standard that its sickening. Get off the anger and rage, unless of course, you think you are above everyone else!

God Squad

There sure is a lot of mean spiritedness from both Christians and non Christians on this site. Don't post unless you are encouraging either yourself or others. We won't get to our individual and corporate goals by bringing others down so that we can get ourselves up. If you want to post meanness, go somewhere else. That is not what this site is for.

So, to get out of that mind set, I proposed that we each post how much each person has lost, and then a total can be rung up as to a total picture of success (our individual and our corporate successes) on this site?

some people are obviously very threatened by others' beliefs. i wonder if those who protest too much are afraid of the strongly held beliefs of others because they do not have a strong enough grip on their own beliefs? for instance, i do not believe in nor do i practice any form of organized religion, but i am not angry toward those who do. i am not even affected by uber-religious people, zealots, fanatics, or the unbelievers. i marvel at how there are so many options-i mean our beliefs can make or break us sometimes, and so many of us disagree with anothers' whole way of thinking. let's not waste time trying to be right or trying to conform others, let's share our beliefs and recognize that we are all on the same journey in one way or another (maybe the only thing we have in common with another is the fact that we're both going to be dead someday, but that's still a commonality to recognize) and continue towards our goals. if god helps you reach your goal, goog for you for reaching it! if hating god helps you reach your goal, good for you for reaching it. the end result is the same. namaste!

I made a mistake

I joined this forum today thinking I was finding a supportive and encouraging place to come and post about my struggle. I'm upset and discouraged, that instead, I have found just another place filled with bickering people who can't leave well enough alone and be adults.

Everyone has issues, but the wise ones keep them to theirselves and don't broadcast such ignorant rants.

I hope you all have success in your weight loss, because you'll never be successful people with the attitudes you carry.

Good day!
