when to measure

when is the best time to measure for inches lost on the legs, arms and midsection? should I do it immediately after I've lifted weights or should I wait until I'm rested. I lift M-W-F and rest weekends. It's been 6 weeks and I would like to check for inches lost but should I do it after my training or should I wait for the weekend?

I don't know for sure but my first instinct is to wait until the weekend. Maybe Sunday night. My reasoning is this:

when you lift, you are breaking down muscle fibers (or something like that) and then they put themselves back together. (which is why you should rest in-between). Now.... wouldn't it make sense to wait until everything is put back together again before measuring?

I hope someone else knows the answer to this as I just measured myself for the first time and would like to know, too.

:)

measure yourself before your workout as well... you will be a bit swollen with bloodflow and water from sweat if you do it after your workout so you won't get an accurate read.

i'd also wait a few weeks before your first measure as well, so you can see some significant loss. i waited 6 weeks for my first one.
