She is super bubbly and perky. I don't have any of her tapes, but I used to do her workout when she was on tv when I was in high school. "Don't forget to breathe!" she'd perk.

She was so bubbly and perky to the point everything she did irritated me. I cannot feel so happy first thing in the morning after having to pull myself out of bed to EXCERCISE!

I like Kathy Smith though :) Then again I am just so choosy :(

Her voice is hard to get past, but others seem to like her. Tamilee webb is good, just ignore the bad music :)

I find the reviews on Amazon.com really helpful (even though I often end up buying the DVD elsewhere). You might want to take a look and see what is posted there too before buying (since once DVDs are open you can't return them).

:o)

I love love love Denise. I can feel it when I work out with her exactly where she says I will. Try it!

I think her tapes are very motivating because of her "up" personality, but she has always had trouble synchronizing with music. Her beat is off. So if you like to exercise to the music, you have to workout sort of "on and off" the beat.

Is Denise's yoga tape good? I loved working out with her on TV. She keeps you motivated.

I have her DVD where you can select your own "personal training" session (it was 10 bucks at a local fred meyer - prolly find it at Target too) which is AWESOME.

Guess what the best part is?

There is an option to turn off her voice! hehehehehe

When I think of Denise Austin I cannot think of any other fitness person I hate more. She is ridiculous and doesn't seem to have a point to her movements - just bouces happily wherever she goes. She drives me nuts. But I like to be serious about working out - if you want happy-go-lucky "Wow, this is soooo much fun!!!!!! Hee!! Hee!!" Then she's the one for you. I feel like her audience should be a bunch of children, not grown adults. Just my opinion though.

I just bought my first Denise Austin DVD and absolutely hate it. She's awful - like Tara Ried on way too much Ephedrine. She just bounces around like crazy, even the people behind her in the workout video can't follow her. She just randomly changes the routine without any instruction whatsoever. I won't be buying any more of her videos.

Yes, I agree, between then bouncing and her VOICE I can't take it. There are so many other instrutors out there that you can find a better one than one that seems as though she is on crack..that is just my opinion.. take care...

Oh Lord! She has a yoga video ... her personalitiy does NOT fit a yoga teachers personality... again there are others more suited for that..such as Shiva Rea.. Rodney Yee.... or pretty much any one else....

I have her yoga and pilates videos and she is not as bubbly in them as she is in her cardio segments. I think she just uses her enthusiasm to motivate you in the cardio workouts. I am glad she is always happy. I cannot stand those boring slower than Christmas instructors that make me think of a professor giving a lecture. Exercise should be fun not so boring it puts you to sleep.

Too perkey

I tried her pilates workout. She is too perky and it was too easy of a workout. I gave the DVD to my sister-in-law since she likes her. I like a more challenging workout. Some of the 10 minute solution DVD's are excellent. I also like the zumba workout. I usually watch video clips on the internet before I buy an exercise DVD.

At PEERtrainer, we are pretty big fans of Denise Austin. She embodies the "slow burn" mindset that we have begun to strongly tell people to learn.

Her workouts are gentle, and she really seems to know that many people are in pain and have a hard time exercising, and that the last thing they need is more pain in their lives!

We have put together an article that outlines the science or fundamentals about why the approach she takes is so good.

How To Burn Fat In A Gentle, Easy Way

We also have put together a simple eating plan that helps you eat better, but in a very forgiving way. When you eat in this manner, your body will be more "nutrient dense." As you exercise in an easy manner, you'll push these nutrients throughout your muscles and it will start to give you more energy.
