any celebrities on PT?

With PT making its way to People Magazine and Goodmorning America are there are any high profile celebrities endorsing PT?

There may in fact be several celebrities using PT, but thanks to anonimity, we may never know for sure.
But as far as "endorsing" PT, I think that's only a matter of time. Who will be the first??
Several of us have tried to lasso Oprah, but to no avail. I guess you don't get to be a billionaire by endorsing FREE websites, though.

The word is spreading though...

I just joined last week and I am finding a great support here. Told a good friend who is a VP at a local college and she was impressed by the website and the press I directed to her. She's flagged it to the Wellness coordinator. They just spent a fortune on a student wellness ed program ....and PT is free! Her first question to me was "how much does it cost?"

Best part is the community. With the internet, everyone has the information they need at their fingertips. As they say in the African proverb.....It takes a village ......

i *know* it's anon, but i don't understand how a celeb could be on PT... my groups and i have formed such close relationships; work, family, daily stressors DO come up and i don't know how a celeb could keep that hidden. ie "i binged out b/c i was so stressed" "oh really why?" "the paparazzi was chasing me"

You know, the paparazzi chased me last week - man, they are SO annoying.

The reason I like Peertrainer is because they DON'T have any celebrities endorsing them. Sorry, but it pisses me off when I see people like Kirstie Alley and Jenny McCarthy advertising other diet companies - yeah, you can afford to buy all their food and hire a personal trainer and a nanny to watch your kids while you get personalized 2-hour-a-day workouts. Peertrainer is made up of real people that I can actually identify with. Even Kate is a teacher and a mom, just like a lot of us.

Having a celebrity endorsing PT would not make any sense since they can afford their own personal trainer, personal chef, etc. Using everyday people would be much more effective.

you never know... there could be some D-listers out there on PT, there kinda like "regular people". that's why i like celebrity fit club, they actually show when they fall off the wagon or have mental breakdowns like the rest of us.

c'mon D-listers, let's lose some weight and get healthy for your comebacks!

What is the obsession with celebrities? Who cares if they are here. They are just people like all of us. The only difference is like some have already stated they can afford personal chefs, trainers and sitters. If we all could we wouldn't be here. I have met quite a few "celebrities" and quite frankly they are normal people who don't require a lot of fanfare.

I'm only human afterall

Not quite an "A lister" anymore and certainly not a "D lister" but always needing to stay healthy and on track. I do have a personal trainer but she's not the same as my Peertrainer girls. I like the sense of "community" with my group and the fact that nobody knows my identity makes it all really easy. I haven't been on a red carpet or seen my face/body in a magazine for two years so I guess by Hollywood standards I'm considered a thing of the past. However, most recently I've been doing animation voice-overs---best of both worlds: really fun work plus I get to eat whatever I want and no-one ever sees me when I'm having a "fat day!" Besides there is far too much drug and alcohol abuse in this town so to go out and party with some of these people is a death wish, ugh, talk about unhealthy! YUCK!

Hmmmm, trying to think who 3:32 might be???

Who cares who 3:32 is? we are all here because we want to get fit and healthy. They are here for the same reason. I don't understand all this obsession with Celebrities, let them live their life just like everyone else. That is not the measure of a person, true celebrities should be teachers, service men and women. So just let people on here be people.

I think people are sick to death of celebrities. People are craving authenticity-- I think that is one reason the People article resontated. Normal people doing extraordinary things- without the help of celebrity trainers, drugs etc. If anyone is a celebrity here- please just keep your mouth shut about it.

I am 3:32 poster

To 11:01 poster,
I guess I thought by revealing that I was a "celebrity" and have a personal trainer I would also reveal that Peertrainer is the only thing that really works for me. Granted, I am not getting paid to say it nor do I wish to be paid to say it but the question was asked by the OP and I figured I would respond. I too understand the importance of acknowledging "normal people doing extraordinary things" so please don't pass judgement on my personal beliefs because you are "sick to death of celebrities." I support and value my Peertrainer group of "normal people doing extraordinary things" with their oeverall health and well-being everyday on this website. Because the website is anonymous; authenticity is the only option and that is what I love and crave most about it. In closing, If you didn't want to hear about celebrities endorsing Peertrainer you should not have participated in this particular thread as the title clearly states it's intentions.

too funny, I love that certain people have such egos that they consider themselves a "celebrity"

I think it's funny, that we the general public label these people as "celebrities" and then get upset with them for claiming to be "celebrities."

I don't know, .......if my name appeared in movie / show credits, or I had my pic in a magazine, I think that I would call myself a celebrity.

I think that it was nice of the 3:32 to tell of how she has found peer trainer helpful, just like everyone else who uses this site for good instead of evil. Heck if I had the money I would get a personal trainer too, wouldn't we all ?????????????????

I would love a personal trainer!!! To the "celebrity" please share the wealth "of information" that is. What is your exercise routine like, what works for you, tell us what your trainer helps you with.
thanks!

i have a personal trainer and i'm definitely not a celebrity... i've found that PT does way better at motivating me than he ever could! he's one person to be accountable to, on PT i've got lots of people to be accountable to!

way to go 3:32, who cares if your a celeb we're glad you're here for the same reasons we are, for self-betterment!

sheesh

what comes to mind is...
If you don't have anything nice to say, ... don't say anything. Seriously. I know you are dieting, 4:43 and 11:01, but that kind of negative attitude will just tear down what we try to build.
Each of us is special. I like thinking I am talking to someone as fabulous as I am. No matter what thier profession.

still trying to figure out who the celeb is...

Wilmer Valderama does the voice of Handy Manny - but I don't think he needs to get in shape. Hmm.
Are we sure it's a woman...? The wife from Married With Children does all kinds of cartoon voices. Oh, and the chick from "yes, dear"
Nope - I'm not coming up with anything...
Any other guesses?
I know we could just ASK the poster what his/her name is, but then there goes the anonymity.
You wanna give us a hint...? Date and name of last magazine...?

3:32 Poster here

To answer 7:07 my personal trainer is nowhere near as supportive as Peetrainer. She shows me how to do exercises and gives me a push now and then but she's more into tough love rather than supportive love. I meet with her once a week and we do different exercises that target different areas so my body doesn't get used to one particular routine. She gives me my routine for the week and I try my hardest to follow thru. One thing I noticed right away was how little I needed to do to see results when I would actually concentrate on each rep and "make it count" as opposed to doing several reps with the same weight while just trying to get through it. I.e. I wouldn't use the best form and it wouldn't be as affective. I do a lot of plyometrics i.e. 60 seconds of standing tall, arms spread out while doing knee lifts or kicks or walking lunges followed by 30 seconds of jumping jacks then another 60 seconds of running side ways or skipping or alternating sprinting with jogging followed by leaning against a wall or fence in a "sitting postion" for 30 seconds. Then start over again-we do this for 15 or 20 minutes (don't be fooled it's sooo HARD!) followed by some sort of sprinting/jogging or power walk or swim for 30 minutes. Strength training 2x a week is 15 reps of whatever exercise I'm doing, we alternate concentrating on my biceps, triceps, chest, back, shoulders, legs and abs. I use plain old dumbells usually 10-12 lbs. and I like the large inflatable floor ball for ab work. I do 2 sets of 25 calf lifts on a step 3 times a week and 30 push ups 3 times a week. That's my workout for the week. I live in a small town so it's easy for me to ride my bicycle everywhere and I like to go for walks and try to hike a lot. I love to eat so my problem isn't the activity it's the extra sugars and salt. I have the world's strongest sweet tooth and I adore cheese.

7:07 here

Thank you very much 3:32.... now that is what the spirit of PT is all about! Not this other nonsense. P.S. Is there any room in your group... I've been on here for a little over 2 weeks, and am addicted, but can't seem to find a group that is active and/or supportive. Thanks again-- I'm going to look into the plyometrics! Also I know my form is horrible, I can't afford a trainer, but I usually try to find a very athletic woman in my gym and copy her, I think it's working for now :) as long as she doesn't see me staring.. lol
