SO DO SKINNY PEOPLE JUST NOT CARE ABOUT FOOD

do they just have limits and not care about food or is it just easy for them to not eat?

everyone cares about food

healthy people use food as fuel to empower their bodies.

skinny minny here

I love food! I love all kinds of food and love to eat food. I can eat and eat and eat all day. But at the same time I know my limits. If i want to eat a big brownie fine but that means no more sweets for that day and stock up on more water and fruits.

I tend to eat all day long too. Not full meals through out the day but i snack and nibble here and there. If you were to read my log you would read things like 1/2 grilled cheese, 1/4 creamy soup, 2/3 grilled chicken dinner. I cannot eat a big meal in one setting but i can eat bits and pieces through out the day.

I dont deprive myself of non healthly food because then I got mentally insane craving it more and more. So instead I eat what I want but watch my protions and balance the bad with something good.

For me it's been all about limits and balance.

I knew a really skinny girl once, and she just forgot to eat. She never thought about food and never had a desire to eat., she didn't care about food at all. When she would start feeling faint or dizzy she knew she had to eat something and then she would eat only enough to keep her going. She was truly one of the tyes that 'eats to live', rather than lives to eat.

I so wish I could be that way.

I am skinny and I do not care about food. My favorite time would be playing tennis and hanging out with friends, nothing involving food. My family was obsessed about food and it was a drain on me. I do not care, I don't know why people talk about food all the time.

My husband is fairly skinny, and used to be really skinny until he started living with me. He's gained 15lbs that he really needed to gain!

He can very easily keep junk food around but just eat a handful here, a handful there. He goes to the pantry, gets a handful of something, pops it in his mouth, and then goes about whatever else he was doing. Me, I'd pull out the bag/container, and eat from it while doing whatever else. He also almost never cleans his plate. Whether it's a crust or half the meal, there's always something left.

He definitely likes junk food. He just doesn't go for quantity, for the most part.

I have always had to work really hard to stay in shape. My co-workers were all very in shape & thin when I was actively working as a weightloss counselor. It was always very frustrating to me (& the others) when people assumed that because we were in shape that it was easy. I worked out almost every day & ate very healthy through out the week (would treat myself on the weekends). I was also pretty young, so everybody assumed that I was just naturally fit because maybe they were as a younger person. They didn't take the time to ask how I took care of myself or rewrote my future. I come from a family of serious weight issues. It was very frustrating to be written off as a skinny girl who doesn't understand what it is to be overweight.

2:21 I know exactly where you are coming from!

I am thin as well but I work at it. It does not come naturally to me. Like an above poster I don't deprive myself of anything but I watch portion sizes and balance something "bad" with a lot of something good! I limit junk food and try to eat tons of fruit and veggies. I am very active and have to stay that way to keep my body toned and thin!

So I guess the answer to the OP's question is yes, I care about food but I don't eat to fulfill something in my life, I eat for fuel to keep my body going. And I don't obsess about food at all.

Some people's bodies have something that some of us have had to learn. Their body just knows when it has enough energy. I know several naturally skinny people who don't have to think about it. They eat only when their body needs food.

Me on the other hand..... Well, that's why I"m here.

I think people who have a "normal" weight don't use food as an emotional outlet.

I think you really have to separate

people who are skinny because they were born like that (family inheretance, etc, etc, etc), and people who put a LOT of work (exercising, eating right, etc) to stay skinny. And then, of course, there is a third category of people who are starving themselves to be skinny.

Whether any of these groups of people do not care, I'm not sure, maybe the first ones. Although I do know a few really skinny people who eat a lot, and enjoy it, it's just that the food kind of falls through them (lucky them!). I, personally, belong to the 2nd group, and although I do have a very positive relationship with food, I understand that if I don't watch what I eat, I'll be gaining weight on the spot. And for all the people around me who would probably classify me as quite skinny, and who are asking, oh, how did you lose/maintain the weight or look this good, well, you know, that's A LOT of work. I really watch what I eat, and am active. Yes, I'm not perfect either, I do have my emotional eating binges, but overall I'm heatlhy and skinny, and loving it. And working every day for it.

I second the 5:11pm poster. I'm in the normal BMI range, but closer to the low end of normal than the high end. I'm thin. I wouldn't call myself skinny though. I worked hard to get here, and I work damn hard to stay here! People definitely assume that I don't understand being overweight, and assume that since I'm tiny (I'm also very short) that I can eat whatever I want. It doesnt' work like that! I'm "tiny" BECAUSE I don't eat whatever I want. I watch it, all the time.

It does become habit though.
