hit a plateau? Mix things up and batle through it!

Hi all,

I just wanted to send some encouragement to those out there stuck in a weight loss rut. Since January I lost 30 pounds on the WW flex plan. Then for the past month and a half the scale wouldn't budge. It was a bit of a bummer after having lost so much weight so easily and so quickly. I tried a whole bunch of things...restricting my food for a week, increasing my food for a week, ramping up the exercise, not exercising at all. Then two weeks ago I decided to change the way I track my food intake by switching from the flex plan to the core plan. It's changed the food groups I'm primarily pulling my calories from and thank God...the scale is moving down again!!!

I just want to encourage you if you're in a rut, don't give up. Keep trying new things to kick your body back in gear. Whether you're on WW, atkins, south beach, calorie counting or whatever, trying switching your diet up a bit. Try a new exercise regimen. Don't get discouraged with temporary setbacks and try to keep your focus on your end goal. It will feel so good when you've pushed through the plateau without giving in. I hope you all have a strong and healthy weekend!

Thanks for all the support I've received from fellow PT members. This is the first time I've made it through a plateau without giving up and I know I couldn't have done it without the support and resources that this website offers. No more yo yo dieting for me. Yay!

Before I get jumped on by the spelling police, please forgive the spelling of "battle" in the thread topic :-)

Thank you!

I have spent many a day/month/maybe even year on a plateau, and you are 100% right that mixing it up is the way to break it.

Also, one thing I have learned is that I really need to make sure that I am eating enough so that my body does not go into starvation mode!
