Can I take ALLI while on antidepressents?

I'm currently taking wellbutrin and am weaning and will take Celexa in about 2 or 3 weeks.

I'd like to try Alli, does anyone know whether I can take this while on medication?

Yes. I will consult my doc, just wanted to get an idea of what you all know or heard :)

I am taking alli and I also take, Lexapro and Lamictal as well as synthroid. My doc actually prescribed Xenical for me a while ago, but I didn't take it because it was so expensive.

don't take alli. you will be more sorry than you have ever been in your life. it makes you shit oil.. literally. it stops your body from absorbing fat so it has nowhere to go but out, and if you go to the alli website, it actually tells you to wear dark clothing and bring a change of clothing if you must leave the house as the effects of the drug are so definite. thats not so nice..

i think they may have called it "anal seepage" before they began the serious promotions.. but anyway, its well documented that flatulence is not just that, and it creates a very messy situation for anyone on alli who isn't within 2 feet of a sturdy toilet

You might need anti-depressants to help you cope with the side effects (fecal incontinence) and resulting social ostracizing.

Don't listen to all the negative people on here!

I've been taking alli for a week now and I have not "shit" myself or even come close. In fact it's been quite the opposite. If you read the instructions, follow the plan and not eat large amounts of fat, you'll be fine. It really makes you MUCH more aware of what you are eating. Talk about accountability. If you over eat and there is too much fat in what you are eating you will have problems. If you pay attention and do what you are supposed to you will not. All the people that are being so negative about it on here, must be afraid that if they take the pill they will no longer be able to eat their bags of chips and gallons of ice cream every night before bed! It's easy to talk "shit" about something you have no idea about!

I too have been taking it for a week, and have had no issues. In fact I have been a little constipated. I think that only happens if you eat something high in fat. I am very happy with the results, down 5 lbs!

I <3 Alli!

Don't listen to the negative stuff - I've been on Alli for 2 weeks now - and the side effects are noticeable but slight - and totally worth it. I always eat a decent diet, but just wasn't loosing any weight. Those occasional slices of pizza, or even a meal you don't think has much fat - it will show, but it's not like you'll be on the toliet all afternoon - it happens just like normal - instead this time - you're also getting rid of extra fat. I LOVE ALLI - and so do all of my friends - we decided to do it together - incase it was really bad - we'd have a support group. We all love it - So worth it! - Oh yeah - I'm on Zoloft - didn't bother it at all!

I've been on ALLI for 5 days now and I've had no side effects what-so-ever. I've even eaten pizza, chips, etc (limited portion size). The ALLI pamplet just tells you that as a precautional to Cover Their Ass-CYA.

Your question is a medical one -- not one that should be answered by anonymous untrained people on the internet.

Please consult either the physician who prescribed the antidepressant or the pharmacist at the drugstore where you had the prescription filled.

They - AND ONLY THEY - have sufficient information about your unique medical history and any other medications you may be on to give you qualified advice.

Depression can be a life-threatening illness, if not properly managed by a qualified professional. So can overweight. Please don't trust your well-being to a bunch of people not qualified to offer medical advice.

My Dr. perscribed xenical for me, which is the same thing as alli. It was cheaper for me to get the xenical because my insurance covered it. I hardly had any side effects and started to lose weight. I went off it because I wasn't patient enough. I'm going to my Dr. today and ask him to put me back on it. I'm also taking abilify, trazodone and effexor. Let me know if you decide to take it and we can compare results

The website is looking bit flashy and it catches the visitors eyes. Design is pretty simple and a good user friendly interface.

You know, such pills are really dangerous for your help and you should understand it. Personally, I understand it and I try to solve all the problems with my therapist. However, there are problems like erectile dysfunction and I can't overcome it without additional hints
