Suna and Steamroom

What does sitting in a Suna do for you in regards to workouts and losing weight? What about a steamroom?

I believe the answer is that if you like that sort of thing, it feels really good.

Figure you're sweating, so you're losing water weight (weight that will come back the second you drink a glass of water)

In the winter after a cold ride or run or ski, it's really great to hop in a sauna to warm yourself up again- you warm yourself to the core in a way that a hot shower can't ever equal.

It's fairly relaxing, so figure any muscles you tensed up during your workout might release a little.

Otherwise, I can't imagine any truly quantifiable benefits.

i am the OP of the first steam room vs. sauna post and I'd like to ask 12:54 why they even bother being a part of this community. yes we all know about Google, yes we all search under keywords and phrases that interest us. But isn't the point of PT to add value to our health (ie. gaining more perspective than that which is found on search engines with health information being offered most of the time from "paid" advertisers.) Just a thought, take it as you will, but next time don't bother posting unless you have something useful to add. And Google, is not helpful!
