my "seconds" trick

I have started a new rule in my life, I can have seconds of anything if I drink 8oz of water first. Usually by the time I finish the water I am too full, or so full I can only take a bite. Same with any other cravings I can have a small portion of what ever as long as I drink a full glass of water first.

Works for me, just thought I would share it, any other tricks you would like to share?

The water one is a good one. Your body will actually confuse the hunger and thirst signals. I've been doing that one as well.

I try and eat some salad with every meal. Then I eat whatever meal I want, but have a smaller portion because I"m eating the salad as well.

that's a great one- I'm gonna try that.
Here's another- when I'm having a craving/temptation, I find a way to put it off for a few minutes- fold a load of laundry, water the plants, get the mail, whatever, (drinking a glass of water is a plus!) then reassess how strong the craving is. sometimes just stalling makes it less intense.

I have heard that a craving lasts an average of 15 minutes. So, if you are craving something really bad, go do something else to keep you busy. After 20 minutes, if it truly is just a craving, it will subside and you shouldn't crave it anymore.

totally works, girl

I actually do the same thing, and I have to say, it works like a charm. If I want more, i just wait about 15 minutes and in most cases my craving subsides.
