Cellulite - does it decrease with weight loss?

For those of you who have already lost a lot of weight, did your cellulite dramatically change? Are your thighs now smooth, or are they just thinner with cellulite? Inquiring minds want to know what to expect when I lose another 50 lbs.

Sorry...

I get a little less lumpy when I'm at a more appropriate weight, but the cellulite and stretch marks never entirely disappear.

There's a great book-The Celulite Solution. I don't do everything it recommends, but I've done some-(body brushing especially) and my cellulite has definitely improved!

mine has been dramatically reduced with my weightloss and strength training. I'm almost able to wear a mini skirt again. But my diet goes beyond calorie input/output to total body health, so that may have a factor.

I'm on the blood type diet. It's a totally different approach, and in some ways, it's much more strict, but I love it. Following it is without a doubt one of the best decisions of my life!!

Because I understand how certain foods interact with what's inside of me, the things that I'm not supposed to have, I rarely if ever crave what I'm not supposed to have. Moreover, after I eliminated things from my diet, adding them back in often makes me feel kind of icky. For example, I went to a xmas party tonight, and I'm soooo sick from eating the 8 cookies :( I haven't "cheated" on the diet, for a month, so I'm not mad at myeslf for the calories, but boy do I feel blah after that much wheat and cornstarch.

Basically, the diet will categorise foods, based upon your blood type and secretor status, as avoid, neutral, or beneficial. Beneficials are like medicine for your body and do great things, neutrals are simply food, and avoids do bad things to your body.

I will warn you though, the diet is contrary to what alot of people to believe as true. There is scientific research and backing to support it, but it goes against mainstream. People think I'm crazy when I say I don't eat wheat, and I ESPECIALLY will never touch a whole wheat product of anykind, but the first week I cut out wheat, I lost 5 pounds.

However, I've lost weight, changed the shape of my body (my tummy hasn't been this flat in years!) lost inches, and have better health (no longer on prescription allergy meds, no more asthma problems), in a short period of time. I'm no longer depressed, I'm calmer, happier- and for all these reasons, I love the diet, and I don't "crave" what isn't good for me. (AND best of all, chocolate is neutral- yay for me!!! I have chocolate almost daily, and still lose weight) And yes, my cellulite is going away!

Also of note, my mother is diabetic, and has been able to cut her insulin intake in half, and has virtually eliminated her arthritis pain, by loosely (not even strictly!) following the diet.

You can check out the diet a little at www.dadamo.com, or get the book "Live Right for your Type" by Peter Dadamo.

Body brushing is really simple- European women do it all the time. All you need is a good quality natural bristle brush. Spend about 5 minutes gently brushing the skin, before your shower or bath, always toward your heart, and spending more time on trouble spots. It increases circulation to the skin and helps drain water that gets trapped between skin and fat cells. After your shower, MOISTURIZE .
If you're also exercising and staying hydrated, it helps. Some people say it's rubbish, but honest to pete my thighs and bum are much smoother.

Your post above inspired me to get his book, read them all, start the plan and WOW, I am sold. If you are type O, I just formed a PT group for those following the plan and blood type O. Love to have you!

i lost 40 lbs two years ago (back here to lose another 10-15) and i notice that i had less celulite afterwards . . .however, i do not contribute this to just "losing weight", i believe it was more the weight training i was doing. the more toned you are the less any flaw will show, stretch marks, cellulite etc (fake tan helps A LOT too!). If you don't lift weights now, then start off w/ one-two times a week. if you already do some weight training then add another session a week, or add extra reps or add more weight to each session. It is d*mn near impossible to get rid of all cellulite since women are born with a predetermined amount of fat cells (the just expand or shrink w/ weight gain and loss), but we can definitely alter our appearance. Good luck!
