Team in Training

Hey everyone,

I'm doing another triathlon!:)

I will be doing the St. Anthony's Triathlon in St. Petersburg, Florida! It is twice as long as the one I did in October - it's a 1 mile swim, 31 mile bike ride and a 6.2 mile run. Gosh, I get tired just thinking about it;)

Its been such an interesting and life changing year for me, and I wanted to take on something big. This is big!

I will be training with Team In Training. Its the biggest organized training program that benefits a charity. They also train for cycling events as well as marathons. In exchange for training and support, I help raise money towards cures for blood cancers like leukemia - the No. 1 disease killer of children - lymphoma and myeloma.

I do have to raise $3,900 and that is quite a challenge! But my company has a matching program, and will match everything I raise by February 1st. I have attached my website and you can donate online at this address.

I could also use some training buddies if anyone is up for keeping really active this winter - even if its just the virtual support via the web:) If anyone is interested, I'll even start a new group:)

Thanks,
chicagoamber

Team in Training is definitely a well known group. If you ever watch a televised marathon, you'll see loads of people in their typical purple shirts. It's a cool program. Good job chicagoamber! You inspire me!

They support a great cause and from what I know the training program is fun. Friends of mine have done a marathon with them - but a triathlon is pretty cool

And for anyone who lives in Chicago - I am doing a Superbowl Squares fundraiser. For a $20 donation (tax deductible) you can get a chance to win 4 tickets on a rooftop for a Cubs game ($500 value) and other great prizes! It benefits a great cause :) Feel free to contact me if you're interested.

Team In Training

Hi~
I'm new to PEERtrainer AND Team In Training.
I joined TNT Fri. and am so excited about both programs!
I've never done fundraising or marathons and I'm ready now. Having a connection with others will help me stay motivated.
I used to weigh about 190lbs. for many years (I'm 5'7) then I got involved with a program where I weigh and measure my food. I've also made other lifestyle changes and I've been about145 lbs. for 9 years now.
I just never got into excersize.
This will help!!
I live in northeast Pa and hope to make more TNT or marathon connections though getting in touch with anyone interested in a healthier lifestyle is encouraged to respond!
