HELP! How much time between races?
So I'm planning on running my first half marathon on Sept 2nd.
I've never run in any races race before so I really am not sure what to expect (as far as how much recovery time I'll really need).
But I am doing well on my training and ran 9 miles yesterday - which is what the training plan calls for at this point.
I'm very seriously considering entering another half marathon on Sept 15th, but I'm just wondering... is it ok to do another one so soon after the first or am I really just insane?!

I would talk to some serious runners (isn't there a group here?), but seems like not a good idea... I think you should be waiting at least a month between races or risking injury.

If you have absolutely no joint/muscle issues (e.g. plantar fasciitis, shin splits, sore achilles tendon, etc), can get a sports massage at least once in between, and can spend some serious time in a whirlpool, you shouldn't consider it at such a developmental stage in your running abilities. Fall is a big season for races, surely you can find one in early October?
Whatever you do, don't thwart your new love of running by risking injury.
And good luck with your Sept 2nd race!
