How do you measure progress

There are the obvious ones - pounds lost and clothes getting baggy, but then there are those other signs that maybe this will really be the time I beat the weight.

Things like these.

Taking a bite of one of my "trouble" foods and not liking it. Taking a bite of fresh fruit and loving it.

Walking up a flight of stairs with a co-worker without that embarrassing wheeze at the top.

Putting on those smaller pants I ordered online, convinced that they won't even zip, and they look great! I think I even see a curve "in the right place" that wasn't there before.

And so forth ...

How do YOU measure progress?

Well obviously the scale and just how I look in the mirror. But also realising that I don't really like a lot of the junk food that I used to be addicted to. Wanting to try new foods instead of always ordering a burger and fries. Enjoying taking a walk with my husband and dog.

For me, it's actually looking forward to eating a healthy meal (and how good it's going to taste) as opposed to dreading it coz it's "not what I really want."

Desire to do things I never dreamed possible. Like hiking a mountain.

Loose waist bands.

More energy.

People NOT recognising me....I mean friends.

Favorite clothes from last year not fitting because they are way too big.

And later....favorite clothes from last year fitting because I haven't gained weight.

Enjoying slight soreness as progress....enjoying windedness knowing I am working hard AND I can keep going.
