How Long Did it Take You to Get Pregnant

Question: My husband and I are seriously thinking about trying to conceive within the next 6 months. I am a completely type A impatient individual. Therefore, if I don't get pregnant within 4 or so months I think I will be a basket case. So, to give me some time frames (yes I know all the statistics, i.e., it can take up to a year for healthy people) how long did it take to become pregnant? Did you freak out if it took longer than expected?

5 years of unprotected sex. 2 years oversexed, using FAM. We had "unexplained infertility syndrom". Not everyone is the same. Now you are warned. It also depends on yours and your partners ages, and eating and drinking habits. Good luck.

One month of seriously trying for each child (we have two)... I was 34 and 36 years old at the births.

My sister put off trying to have kids until age 27-ish, and ended up with issues... 8 years and finally was successful w/ IVF.

About 5 minutes for baby #1...just passed 2.5 years trying for #2. Unexplained...no fertility issues...just very frustrating!

Check out some "trying to concieve" message boards online. There's a few very active ones that are helpful for people who want to get pregnant quickly, as far as timing when to try and so forth.

We had "unexplained infertility" also. Then a few years later got pregnant with baby #1. After that, it took 4 months trying for baby #2, then had baby #3 while using a condom, then had baby #4 during the ONLY unprotected sex in 2 1/2 years!! Everyone's different. Good luck!

It took one attempt when we were both sick with the stomach flu.

Baby #1 - about 2 months
Baby #2 - one year (went on chlomid and had an HSG = that did the trick, I had some scar tissue the HSG cleared away and got pregnant the very next month)
Baby #3 - the first month we tried!

Baby # 1 conceived the first month we tried
Baby # 2 took 6 months of trying to conceive
Baby # 3 never happenned. After 18 mo of casual trying we gave up.

For #1 and #2 I used ovulation kits. Sort of expensive, but helpful to know you're actually doing it when you're supposed to. ;)

Don't try ... that's the key. If you have fun and have great orgasms you're more likely to get prego. When the female has an orgasm the spasms help push the sperm higher into the vagina and if you are having fun and not stressing your hormones will make you body more inviting for the sperm.
My first son wasn't planned (my now husband and I had sex less than 10 times) and my second (born 13 months after my 1st) was born on birthcontrol (spermicide).
