That's just one day, now you have to do this for the rest of your life if you want to keep seeing results, dear. You have not accomplished something, except maybe learning how to eat like the person you wan to be. When you no longer wake up at 3 AM to eat, you can call that an accomplishment. When you no longer keep honeybuns and chips in your kitchen and dont miss them, you can call that an accomplishment.

shut up 1145! She's happy and she certainly accomplished something. Leave well enough alone.

Great job on surpassing the cravings OP!

I agree - ignore 11:45's comments! This is a huge accomplishment and you should be congratulating yourself for it - way to go! Recognize and celebrate every accomplishment, major and minor, and you'll fill yourself with confidence and strength to continue.

you should be very proud of yourself. I think what the other poster was trying to say.. is that try to have healthy foods arround you and build better habbits so binges dont happen as much, but they need to learn to use tact. keep making great choices .. every time you stop yourself from giving into something is a big accomplishment and gets you closer to where you want to be.

What are honey buns and chips doing in the house in the first place if you are trying to manage your weight ?
If the junk food is not there, there is little to be tempted with. Think about it, are you really going to go out to the local fast food joint at 3:00pm in your fuzzy slippers, I don't think so.
I would be MUCH more supportive of a thread that said ..... "I went to the grocery store and bypassed the candy, pop, chip, ice cream aisles altogether"

WOW is right, baby steps over time which becomes leaps until we make it to the finish line! You’re on your way and should be excited. Sometimes I have to laugh at some of the posts, most are encouraging and some you wonder why they even wasted their time but all in all I think most mean well. Here’s something I've learned, it never hurts to take a look at what they say and if theirs validity to it then apply the useful information to achieve your goals, if there’s not don’t give it a second thought its not worth your energy. Keep up the good work and I’ll see you at the finish line!

keep it up!

good Job, Wow! Every step is a good step.

Water is always a good choice. Our culture is so poor about hydration that we often mistake being thirsty for being hungry.

You may find it easier to avoid temptation if you remove as many of them as possible. I also find it useful to post my goals and progress on the fridge and the pantry door.

Keep up the good work!

11:45 poster is rude. way to be supportive.

9:20 poster obviously doesn't think about other people living in your house.

I think its GREAT. My husband is supportive of me and my weight loss attempts, but I am not going to keep some foods away from him that he loves. Its called willpower and you did great. I am trying to do that myself!

Chugging water does help me out a whole lot.

Way to go OP
That is a major accomplishment. It is not easy to say no to what your body is wanting so bad.
Be proud of yourself and use the memory of that next time you have those desires hit.
Keep up the good work.

Sometimes just getting over the top of the next hill is the first step to crossing the mountains - 1 step at a time.

OP - you did it! We're proud of you and rooting for you on your journey :-)

I agree that 11:45 poster could have been slightly more considerate.

However I second 9:20's opinion on not having the junk food in the house. Consider other people who live in the house? Like a rounding up husband or, especially, the kids who sat at their computers all night? Well, 2:17, NO ONE in your house should have white honey buns or chips, that's junk, not only for OP who is trying to lose weight, but also for every single one of her family members. Alright, have it once in a while on a picnic, movie, etc, - and indulge then, but don't keep it home.

OP: good job of holding off though, really good.
