Water intoxication and hyponatremia

How much water is too much???

I drank 6 liters of water yesterday and my DH was making me feel like that was too much. I googled it and read that the kidneys can process up to 15L a day, but the concern for water intoxication is greater in an athlete b/c you lose salt when you sweat. I usually drink 1 serving of gatorade (powder) during or after each workout. Plus I never run on an empty stomach and eat w/in an hour afterward so I'm replenishing my sodium, etc.

What do you guys think??

I think it depends on how hot it is where you are.

Here, it's 35 degrees outside, and you need to drink a lot of water if you're outside.

If you're sitting in an airconditioned office all day then 6L may be excessive.

Food is better digested when your stomach acid isn't diluted.
