Oprah's diet

I heard once that Oprah can't diet as extremely as she used to because of yo-yoing. Does any one know more specifically what happened and why?

Her weight would bounce up and down, up and down, within a 100-pound range. This is VERY bad for someone's body. Her metabolism probably just gave up.

I'm sure she is very busy an eats out a lot at expensive restaurants. I don't think Oprah is a good role model to look to for weight -loss purposes. She acts like she accomplishes somehting, but then in a few months puts the weight back on. Really not a good example to look towards. She always had weight issues and still does. She is still in very bad shape, in fact, she never got in good shape. It's all marketing and slimming clothing, if you will notice.

No one should diet the way Oprah used to. Liquid diets and starvation will not work for anyone and is never a long term solution. Oprah has chosen to follow a healther lifestyle instead that includes exercise and better food choices.

She had gained some of the weight back during her trip to Africa where she was having her school built. She was afraid to eat to the meat while there and ate a lot of bread and high carb foods instead. She basically steered away from her diet. I'm not guessing on this, she talked about it on her show.

I do believe she is a good role model for weight loss. She has gone up and down, but who hasn't. And she's not ashamed to admit to failure like other celebrities. At least she has not gone back to being obese. She's not skinny, but she is in fantastic health (as seen on some of her shows where she's had her test results made public). And what's so bad about wearing slimming clothing? she's showing us that you don't have to be a size 2 to look great. This is no secret, she's had plenty of makeover shows where she talks about the tricks to looking slimmer.

I've included a link below that talks about yo-yo dieting.

Hey, thanks for that link. I was worried about yo-yoing making future loss more difficult.
