Do you think Vick deserves jail time over Dog Fighting?

I don't! Maybe a heavy fine and probation. This could ruin the guys life !

Thats the whole point of jail. to leave permanent marks. he deserves it. he knew what he was getting into, he's not stupid.

A heavy fine will mean nothing to him, he is a millionaire. Probation is also worthless.

Personally I'm sick of all these athletes being slapped on the wrist. I think its bullshit!! Give him the same deal as any Joe blow would get! Who cares if it ruins his career. Our kids and millions of people look up and idolize these frigging athletes and we look the other way every damn time one of the breaks the rules. Personally I think one warning or probation for breaking the law and the next time you should never be allowed to play the sport professionally again! A fine frigging example we are setting for the future generations.

8:24- congratulations.

I think his behavior was inexcusable, but I do think there is a racial angle to this. Note how a bunch of black celebrities have begun to defend him, noting that dog fighting is something pretty widespread in the lbc, ghetto, east side etc. I really don't think he knew the totaly consequences of this and there is something unfair about that.

Let's keep this talk off PT, it's sad that it's already dominating most of our airwaves, and other forms of media, but not it's here too? Come on poeple!

As far as Vick goes, the bastard is not a stupid man, he knew exactly what he was doing, and what he did was not something small. He led a HUGE dog-fighting ring, and there were countless acts of torture and violence against animals on his part. Now only did he do something illegal, cruel, and immoral, but he took it to the highest possible level. He should lose his job, money, and face jail time. He's not some ghetto hood rat that didnt know whats going on! He lived the high life in the upper crust for many years now, living it up with his millions. He knew EXACTLY what he was doing.

This is not debatable. If it happened with a couple of dogs I *might* buy the fine and probation, but the magnitude of this horrific crime demands jail time, regardless of race. I don't even know why race was brought up. I also don't care about it "ruining" his life, he has no heart or conscience, and anyone who can be so sick and cruel should be off the streets. Instead of looking up to a football star who is a poor example of a human, find a real role model who actually contributes to society.

Yes he deserves jail he tortured and killed living beings for no reason at all. And most importantly he broke the law.

Inexcusable behavior, he should be punished to the max, dogs have no one to protect them but us humans.

I think that he should get the exact same penalty that any other person would get..whether or not that includes jail time.

There's 2 ways this can swing...either they OVER punish him to make an example, or the UNDER punish him to lick arse.

Hrm.

I think he should get the exact same punisment as anyone else would get, period. But he is now in a no win situation, and I guess that is his true punishment. What I find truely remarkable is that there is so much more coverage of this than if he had driven drunk and killed a PERSON or ten. I DON'T think he should have been mistreating those dogs, but I can't believe that dogs have more rights and cause more outrage than unborn babies.

2:04, how does this indicate that the people on this thread "care more about dogs than people"? What he did was disgusting. Period. If he's so innocent, why didn't he throw the tortured carcasses in the garbage? He burried them on his own property. He knew exactly what he was doing. What kind of a sick F*** would electrocute, hang and suffocate innocent dogs, or any living creature for that matter? Uh, the name Jeffrey Dahmer comes to mind...

No one said dogs were more important than people, but we are discussing a case about dogs. If there is something you want to talk about, bring it up. Plenty of people were pissed on the abortion thread so go read that.
