healthy moms- what do you eat for an afternoon snack?

My go to snack lately has been 20 calorie Wasa crackers - they're big and two are plenty - and 2 tbl hummus.

Other favorites:
1 hard boiled egg
sliced apples (cut into 12+ slices!) w/ 2tbl peanut butter
1/2 cup berries w/60 calorie lite yogurt
small container lf cottage cheese & crackers

Hmmm...that's all I can think of. I try to go for substantial, whole foods with a little protein. Those 100 calories packs do nothing for me except fuel my sweet tooth, carb cravings, and the desire to eat more, more, more!

I'm a hs student, not a mom...but I had the same problem! Healthy afternoon snacks, especially during school (I have no lunch pd)

You're right about the sweet 100 cal packs! But I've found that saltier ones (like cheese nips) work better.

Snack ideas:
I've found these "Food Should Taste Good" (that's the brand) chip/crackers that are really good and come in different flavors. They're more like crackers than chips and are REALLY filling at one oz. I like to dip them in salsa or hummus - yummy! Plus you can put them in a bag to go (I'm a hs student. so that works for me)

2 slices 'lite' whole wheat bread, sliced apples, 1-2 TBS peanut butter

'frozen' grapes - stick grapes in the freezer overnight...they're almost like little grape flavored ices! plus they don't get mushy if you wait 'til lunch.

assorted 'crunchy' veggies (carrots, celery, brocolli, etc) and hummus dip. sooooo good. plus the fiber helps keep you full.
