Fasting to Cleanse

This is an age old practice that I have recently read up on. There are variations; fruit, fruit juice (real), and water fasts.

Has anyone tried any of these? If so, please divulge how it went for you and whether you continue to fast as part of your health and fitness regime.

I have done fruits and veggies cooked or raw but no seasoning then chicken 2 times a week. For health reasons had to have protien now and again. It cleansed my body for sure. On those days when I had meat my body felt awful. Sluggish. Amazing that you could tell the difference.
I have also done a 7 water fast. then one day off and 3 more days. That was really hard on my body. The only think I noticed was that I hurt all the time.
No I don't do it now. I am on too many medications.
I will say though that when I did do it I was quickly coming off of different meds.

I have also heard from someone who used to fast a lot. For religious reasons, which is why I did, that he ruined his metabolism. He is really heavy and claims he doesn't eat that much. I don't know about that.
just be careful not to over do.
I also notice that I can feel the toxins coming out of me when I do this and even when you start a diet. The headaches the achiness.......

I did a full cleanse with about 20 glasses of warm saline water once and it felt wonderful. You can google sankhaprakshalana and find out about it. Once in a while, but not for a regular two- or three-month session, you can also do the shorter version that involves drinking only two glasses of water every morning and doing the five simple exercises.

Have also heard lemon water is good for "cleaning" the liver.
