Weight Watchers Question

I just joined WW and I'm wondering if most people use the points they earn by exercising, or if you just don't count them into your daily target. I feel fine not using the extra points and I feel I'll lose weight faster if I just bank them. What do you all think.

I personally don't use the activity points or the 35 per week. I have lost about 21 pounds in 6 weeks. I think I'd be fine using them, but I'm sure you go faster if you don't. As far as the activity points go, it kinda defeats the purpose of exercise in my mind. If you are just cancelling the food out with a little more exercise wonuldn't you just be even? I don't know for sure, as I just started, so please someone else chime in if you are more experienced! Good Luck whatever you choose!

I do eat my excersize points--that's what they're there for, although I tend not to use all my 35 points. I usually eat 7-14 flex points a week. I've lost 35 lbs since Oct. and had only added excersize about 3 months ago.

21 lbs in 6 weeks is a lot - 3.5 lbs a week! If you can lost 2 lbs a week or even 1 you're doing fine. I personally would rather lose weight more slowly and keep it off permenently - this should be a lifestyle change, not a crash diet. And remember that food is FUEL - and when you're working out, you need it! You are more likely to get injured if you're not fueling your body properly.

Ditto 11:51 -- I reckon WW keeps their Points/calorie guidelines so low so that you'll want to earn more food through activity. Please don't sacrifice them. You'll hear all that stuff about "starvation mode" kicking in if you eat under 1200 calories (24 Points), but that level is different if you're very active.

I never even think of the extra 35 weekly points. I act like they don't exist. I do use my earned activity points but only sometimes.
