remember this old thread?

removed?

i didn't believe it before, but I gave my two cents about a removed thread and just as i put in my thoughts, bam! it's gone! is there a code of ethic we're to follow? If we can talk about cross dressing and bloating and blogging, we should be able to talk about removal of threads.....or am i missing something?

It's probably just a computer glitch-it happens a lot. I don't think there is some conspiracy from the PT admins.

Monday, September 17, 2007, 9:31 PM

OMG by why the glitch only when talking about censorship or removal of threads but not during other topics?? it is a conspiracy!

Tuesday, September 18, 2007, 8:17 AM

I'm a beliver! PT is removing cersorship threads....I know, I posted a new one and it lasted a matter of minutes before it was gone. We should revolt! I'm discusted by many of the topics on here and believe we ought to have a voice.

Tuesday, September 18, 2007, 9:11 AM

yeah, i think it's a bit odd that the threads on censorship keep getting censored!! i started 2 threads last week, the second one because the first one was removed...and now it's gone, too.

Tuesday, September 18, 2007, 9:14 AM

in fact, i just had to REJOIN because my entire profile was somehow, coincidentally "lost" to some computer glitch directly following my questioning of the censorship "rules"...at least i've got some great tools with which to track my continued progress!

Tuesday, September 18, 2007, 9:16 AM

OP HERE

Thanks for confirming what I thought was going on. Now I know I'm not completely crazy, but others are seeing this as well.

Have a great day everyone!

Tuesday, September 18, 2007, 9:20 AM

is there something inherently offensive about the topic of censorship? what am i missing here? topics like "your pubic-hair-style" and "how often do you have sex" are fine but asking about censorship is not?

Tuesday, September 18, 2007, 10:31 AM

this thread hasn't been removed yet.....

Tuesday, September 18, 2007, 10:33 AM

let's see what happens when the sun goes down, mwahahaha...the thread titled "censorship" was also active until it was removed. some time last night it was taken away...

Tuesday, September 18, 2007, 10:39 AM

OP Again

I noticed that three threads were removed with the subject: censorship, which is why I chose to name this one REMOVED. maybe they haven't caught on yet!

Tuesday, September 18, 2007, 10:46 AM

a key word that keeps coming up is "yet"

Tuesday, September 18, 2007, 10:48 AM

you guys are funny. I could care less but I'm enjoying watching the drama.

Tuesday, September 18, 2007, 10:50 AM

you may feel differently if your comments or threads are removed. my entire profile is gone. gone. there yesterday, gone today. no note. no "heads up" email, no explanation. gone.

Tuesday, September 18, 2007, 10:58 AM

I just typed "censorship" into the search field and I came up with four threads labeled by that topic. What happens when you search for them?

Tuesday, September 18, 2007, 11:36 AM

i did the same thing upon noticing that the 2 i started last week were gone. unfortunately the 4 threads that come up when using the search window are from a while ago. the recent threads on censorship were removed. definitely. they are not reflected anywhere in the previous topics. i sent an entire thread to my email address, as a page. i know it was here and i know it's been removed, too. i do not know, however, why.

when i just now tried to post this comment, my newest profile-the one i had to create this morning because my original one from a year ago was "lost"-is also "gone missing". yeah, i had to join again.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm the OP of that thread. I swear I didn't believe it when people said the "censorship" threads were being removed. When I started it I purposely didn't put CENSORSHIP in the title and guess what--it lasted a little longer before they removed it.

Did you save this somewhere? how did you retrieve it?

i wanted proof so i sent the page, the entire page not a link, to my own email. in fact, ALL of MY responses on this thread were selctively removed and so was my entire profile. i had to sign up again. and i have the entire thread with all of my comments, and the next minute without any of my comments. i reposted this thread in several other topics and was having a tug-of-war of sorts with someone working at PT (obviously). it's almost comical, but plenty outrageous!

interesting, so it is just you! lol that means pt does not censor, they just try and remove the jerks from the community. Works for me!

can you explain the reason(s) behind the "personal" attacks you are hurling at me? why would you be so offensive and rude to me while calling ME a jerk? the negativity doesn't make sense. and it's obviously not just me because there are other responders...why the animosity?

OP of the Removed thread again:

10:53 don't take it personally that this moron chooses to take personal shots at you. amazing--assholes like that can put their two cents in and attack people, but you can't have threads about removal of threads or censorship--

I always find interest in these kinds of threads because I'm a psychologist and I can't help but wonder why. Why does this bother the person so much. If you were sitting in my office, I would ask what kind of rejection was felt before, and maybe try to help you find ways to talk about the underlying reasons. I don't necessarily see paranoia but I do see someone who is holding on to hurt and rejection. Try to move through it. Also, this community is for everyone and I know that you're enjoying being the center of attention, but try to remember you are a part of a group, and maybe these distractions aren't helpful to others. Perhaps maybe they're learning something about themselves as well. I would work through this and then move to more constructive areas of your life.

interesting. however, i am responding to having comments removed, being censored. it's a forum for everyone, right? why am i not a part of "everyone"?? why are certain, offensive topics allowed or comments with curse words and derogatory remarks left alone and innocent expressions of opinion are removed? it's a matter of fairness and of having guidelines within which to work / relate as a community. if PT would address the topic, the question of censorship, directly, the topic could be put to rest. but it's not even being ignored!! it's being addressed by deleting anything about it. when only my comments were deledted from the "removed" thread, of course i felt a need to ask, "why?". who wouldn't wonder why their remarks were the only ones removed? i'm not hurt or feeling rejected. i am angry that PT staff members have been playing games and not upholding the purpose of providing support to members who seek it. i didn't start this argument/debate/censorship-i am reacting to it.

what distractions, exactly? asking a question in a forum is not a distraction. that's what the forum is for.

I don't understand. What are they censoring? Your thread about how or what they censor? What were you wanting censored? Jesus freaks? Coven meetings? Lesbos for skinnyness? Pardon my ignorance.

i wasn't seeking censorship, i was a victim of unexplained censorship that presented itself in the form of deleting / removing comments. in two instances, entire threads asking about the censorship policy were removed from the forum. it's not offensive comments that were deleted, look in any number of threads to realize that curse words and snide remarks are left alone. the entire first comment on this thread was originall it's own thread asking about the very subject when it became a victim of unexplained removal from the forum, too. personally, i would prefer no deletion of anything people write, unless obscene or utterly offensive. but who am i? ust a member on a free site.
