What is the best cardio exercise To Loose the fat not burn muscle

I want to start working out , I need to i weigh the most now as I ever have, I am 5"0 and weigh 165. I am 24 yrs old female. I do not look my weight at all, i have alot of muscle and fat : ) but i want to burn the fat without building more muscle. Im new to this but very motivated and open to any sujestions.

Walking

There are so many studies done that show that just walking is the best way to lose weight. When I was working on just losing the majority of my fat weight, I just walked on the treadmill - at a good pace, around 4 mph - for 45 - 60 minutes several times a week.

still do weight training

its inevitable to lose some muscle during cardio. so still weight train to keep your muscles where they're at. maybe try kickboxing or an aerobics class. I did an aqua aerobics class 2x/week and in three weeks I noticed a HUGE difference in my physique. By the way, I'm 5'2", and just have gotten down to 144. I definitely understand where you're coming from.

Just make sure that you do a good warm-up before you start any cardio - i.e. don't immediately start sprinting; start out slowly for a few minutes - and do a good cool-down at the end, followed by a stretching session. Your muscles may become more toned, but the warm up, cool down, and stretch will prevent them from becoming bulky (or more bulky) than before. Any cardio - elliptical, treadmill, bike, stair climber, walking, playing sports, taking classes, etc., will work. If you decide to lift too, just make sure that it's light weights with many reps - that'll build lean muscles instead of bulky.
