I think its like apea without the peas I consider it a veggie

A mange tout is what we call a snap pea in the U.S. It is a legume, so if you are allergic to legumes, you should avoid it.

Legumes are a family of plants (Fabaceae) -- they include foods as diverse as peanuts, beans, peas, jicama, and tamarind.

When you eat, say, a kidney bean or a pea, you are eating only the seed. When you eat a snap pea, you eat the entire pod ("mange tout" means "eat all" in French) which is fibrous, and that changes the nutritional profile.

Not all legumes (or even parts of the same legume plant) are high in carbohydrates. It's a pretty big familiy of plants.

Whatever it is, it's delicious! My granddaughter & I love the FRESH, GREEN taste of it. We eat them for snacks.
