Is it bad to do weights (generally same target area) two days in a row?

Best practice is to allow at least a day in between for your muscles to recover.

I agree the best practice is to give a days rest but I also feel It depends on the amount of weight used for a muscle group. If it is lighter 1-3 lb weights and 12-15 reps with the lighter weights there should not be a problem with recovery and training the same muscle. group. I would however do different exercises for the muscles groups if working the same muscle groups daily with lighter weights. I know with DVD's you are working lighter weights on some of them and by changing up the DVD's your also working the same muscle different ways still using the lighter weights.
