Sleep & Weight Loss
Do you really believe in a big connection between sleep & weight loss? I've read studies that say that sleeping a certain a number of hours can aid in weight loss. I've been never been a huge sleeper, maybe 6 hours a night. Do you think aiming to get more sleep can help a person lose weight?

Yes...sleep helps give your muscles time to repair.
When you get enough sleep you have the energy you need to work out, go to the gym or go for a walk.
Plus when I get enough sleep...I'm not as hungry for junk food...weird...but true.

I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and it seems to be conncted to lack of sleep.
I definately think that sleep deprivation can cause a person to gain weight. I don't know if it is because when you are tired or worn out you don't make good choices or if it is deeper than that. I try and get as much sleep as I can.
I personally can't function on less than 8 hours and if I only have 8 hours a night for more than a week I start getting really bad cranky. It isn't enough. 10 hours works better for me.
I am however disabled and maybe that causes a person to need more.
But I have been this way as long as I can remember.
So get more sleep.
