Alli and my "treatment effect'

So I've been on Alli for about 2 weeks, lost about 2 lbs, which might just be water weight, but some of my clothes are fitting better :)

Well yesterday, I splurged a little. I ate dinner, low fat of course and a few hours later, I had 1/2 of a chocolate chip cookie ( I didn't eat the whole thing because it was a huge cookie).

Well I was fine, woke up this morning, got a little tummy ache, nothing too bad, went to the b room, had a movement and sure enough, there was a greasy substance, similar to pizza grease floating around. I know, gross, but I sure am glad that it passed rather than go straight to my hips! LOL!

I didn't have "anal leakage" or anything like that, it was quite mild. I had worse effects when I ate some low fat pringles that were laced with Olestra (not clearly labeled at all). That was a disaster!

Do you have the effect everytime you eat anything with fat- like almonds or salmon?

Will you be able to absorb any of the good fats?

yeah, thank God I was at home when THAT happened :o(

I did read that with Alli, you do obsorb the "good" fats, not sure how, but the pill doesn't block those out, like Omega 3 fatty acids and such.

On the pill, you can't eat more than 15 grams of fat per meal, so as long as I eat the right portion of almonds or salmon or anything else with fat in it, I'll be fine and so far I have been. Just those 2 episodes.

Good luck with Alli - and keep us updated on how it goes. The Time magazine covered the new weight loss pills this week (both positive and negative comments) and there was a big add for Alli in there as well. I'm guessing there might be lots of Alli purchases after the holidays, along with the gym memberships and new year's resolutions.

OP again, I had my weekly check in and I lost another 2 lbs. That is 4 lbs total since I started taking Alli. Yippee!!!

My goal is 7 lbs, so I'm more than half way there!!! No treatment effects today :)
