How much impact does light beer have on weight loss?

I'm just wondering if anyone has given up beer all together, for weight loss. I really like my beer....lame, I know. But, I'm not seeing the results that I want with weight loss, and I'm wondering if it's time to give up the Bud Light and Michelob Ultra?? I probably average about 4-6 beers a week...is that too much?

Me and my fiance lost weight drinking Ultra, we use ww diet so we counted the points. He lost 45 lbs in 6 miths and I lost 15.

For me, I have to give up most alcohol if I want to lose weight.

It is extra calories. Are you losing weight - just not as fast as you'd like or are your efforts stalled?

well, obviously you dont want an answer telling you to give up alcohol... so I won't be the one to give it to you! Everyone's lifestyle is different.

Light beer has between 70-110 calories so 4-6 a week is going to add up, but not ridiculously. Just cut out some calories on the days you would be drinking. If you are carb conscious, then beer needs to go. I don't religiously count my carbs or anything and the biggest alcohol change I made was switching from huge glasses of red wine to flutes of champagne. It makes every occasion seem special... and its fewer calories.

Basically, enjoy your life! Some people would enjoy it being a few pounds less and alcohol free, others would rather have the social aspect and maybe have to run a few more miles to make up for it.
