Sugars or Fats

I'm training to be a Navy WAVE and need some advice.
I'm trying to build muscle to prepare for boot camp, so I've decided to limit my sugar intake and eat a high protein diet.
I've been lifting weights, and drinking ISOPURE whey protein powder (no fat, no sugar). Aside from that I enjoy non-fat cottage cheese, and non-fat yogurt. I make it a point to make sure that the yogurt is low is sugar (only 4g per cup) but I also like to add trail mix/dried fruit. Trader Joe's has a great selection, but all are pretty high in sugar! I'm wondering, is it better to go for a mix that is lower in sugar but higher in natural fats (nut-based), or one that is fat-free but high in sugars (all-fruit mix). Thanks for your help!

It's scary how many people classify fruit along with all other sugars. Thank you, Atkins, for demonizing the healthiest components of a balanced diet.

Off the soapbox...if you're not getting fruit in your diet any other way, go for the high-fruit trail mix. You don't actually need *that* many nuts to get a shot of healthy fats (example: 10 peanuts = 1 serving of good fats according to the ADA guidelines).
