bored of water...

I don't drink soda and I rarely drink anything but water because all the extra calories in drinks. Today I did try vitamin water because I thought it might be good for me though I was annoyed to realize that though it says 50 calories on the bottle.. it's 50 calories for 1 serving and the bottle has 2.5 servings which is 150 calories!

Anyways, what are some drinks that you guys have when you're bored of water but want something that is still healthy or low on calories?

Also- I'm looking for drinks one can pull off a shelf at a store..(CVS preferably since there is no grocery near me.. hah) I can't make smoothies or anything on my own because I'm a college kid with no means of doing such things... =(

thanks!

Aside from Crystal light of coolaide that I sometimes will add my own splenda too so I can control how sweet it is I also put some of that true lemon powder in my water sometimes. You can get frozen lemon juice (Minute maid) not lemonaid but lemon juice and it has a great flavor too.

Minute Maid just started making juice boxes (those juice bag things, really) that have 5 calories each. They call them "Fruit Falls." They have a bit of fruit flavoring, and they do have a bit of splenda, but I think they're really good. I got a box (of 10 maybe?) at Target for less than $2.

http://www.minutemaid.com/products/Low_Calorie_Beverages/FruitFallsBerry.jsp

They're advertised for kids, and I personally wouldn't give Splenda to my kids, but, well, I don't have any kids, and I think they're better than diet soda for me. I got the berry one, and I like it.

Actually, Minute Maid has a whole line of "light" drinks - lemonade, OJ, other fruit juice, etc. You can see the whole line through a link on the page I listed above. I think their light OJ is 15 calories for 8oz.

Also, Dasani makes flavored water (also with Splenda, I believe) that has 0 calories. I like that too; they're just more expensive.

I like to boil water in the microwave and put a tea bag in it red raspberry or something with flavor and then wait a half an hour then I put it in a two drinking bottles 20 oz or so and fill it with water to the top and throw it in the fridge to get cold or the freezer to quickly get cold and use the same bottles over and over again. I will even put the bottles in the dishwasher to get clean.
But a friend of mine lost 7 inches with quitting sodas in a couple of months.

Sometimes I'll pour a large glass of water and then add a tiny bit of natural fruit juice with no added sweetener. It gives it just enough flavour so it isn't boring.

I only drink water and green tea (unsweetened). I suggest cutting out all drinks with sugar and additives.

I really like Propel. They have some with calcium added and it's only 20 cals per 16 oz bottle. I'm not positive, but I think it's sweetened with splenda. Oh, an it's non-carbonated.

Perrier or San Pelligrino with a teaspoon of juice- guava, mango, pomegranite, whatever. Little fiz, bit of taste- if you need it sweeter you can add some agave nectar. I actually really like cold steeping yerba mate tea in perrier...

I enjoy the Lipton Diet Teas. They are a refreshing alternative to water.

Do you like those flavored waters like Fruit 2 O or berry flavored Aquafinas? They do have splenda or some other artificial sweetners, but they are good!

I just drank a bottle of O infused water, it's called. The bottle gives a website, owater.com. I tried the peach mango, which is infused with antioxidants. It's 25 cals/serving, 2.1 servings per bottle, so just over 50 cals. I was looking for something that didn't have artificial sweeteners, etc.

The ingredient list is:

distilled/deionized water, pure cane sugar, natural peach and mango flavors, citric acid, ascorbic acid (vitamin C), extract of rosemary, zinc glutonate, vitamin E acetate, vitamin A palmitate, folic acid.

If any of these are bad for you, or controversial, I'd like to know.

It was pretty good. Got it at a gourmet grocery store (Treasure Island) for around $1.50. The bottle claims 150% daily value of vitamin C, 21% vitamin A, 21% zinc, 15% folic acid, and 10mg roxemary. It also states that it's 100% natural, no fructose, no phony colors.

Water Infused with Citrus or Cucumbers

Just a hint of citrus (lime, lemon, orange or grapefruit) or cucumber, which is my favorite. Makes you feel like you're at a spa or something...doesn't add too many calories either.
