Does the gov't think you're "fit"?

Saw this article about Pres. Bush--even though he works out 6 days a week, the government classifies him as overweight. You can see what they say about your BMI here.

That's funny, I posted it last night. Maybe PEERtrainer took it off.

So I'm considered normal weight. But if I lost 30pds, I'd still be considered normal weight (which I would then look like I was on my death bed). Also if I gained 10pds, I'd be in the normal weight catergory. That's a pretty big range, and it doesn't take into account muscle mass so in my expert opinion (yeah right) I think it's highly inaccurate.

I think that calculator is way off. And could send impressionable people to dieting when they don't need to. According to this Tom Cruise and Arnold S. (Terminator!!!) is obese and we all know that's bull.

That thing is stupid (sorry for the judgmental attitude)!

I'm 5'5", and if I weighed 111, that's too thin, but 112 is government approved. I weight a whole lot more than that. And I haven't weighed 112 pounds since I was in the 8th grade. My range for healthy is 112-150 something. I would like to weigh 150, but I don't know how easy it will be to get past that. I have a big chest, and I am muscular, and I like being a tough girl, so I'm not about to lose any muscle mass. That thing is stu-pid!
