Yes. It's amazingly fast weight loss. I lost 30 lbs. in three months with no exercise.
It's also nearly impossible to stay on. Which is why I'm back here!

i met a nutritionist who prepared brownies for people who follow this type of diet - she used chickpeas, egg, carob powder, and agave nectar [an extremely low lycemic natural sweetner] and they were delicious. alot of people follow this diet for allergy maintenance. i met a family who ate only meat, lettuce, and rice as their main foods.

Yes. I lost 70 pounds eating this way. When I had another baby, though, I gained 30 of it back, which is why I'm starting again. It's difficult the first 2 weeks, but after that it gets easier. I've lost 8 pounds this time around already.

People don't realize that fat isn't the enemy when it comes to dieting. Its sugar, it does crazy things to your metabolism and makes you crave even more of it. Our body needs fat to function in fact taking in a good amount of Omega3's and 6's contribute to fat loss. The body is constantly burning fat everyday but the moment you eat carbs its either 1. slowed down or 2. stopped. But we need carbs to function, carbs give us energy to get on with our day and carbs deliver nutrients to various parts of the body. So I suggest eating good carbs which are low-glycemic which don't have that big of an effect on our blood sugar. Flour is n't a good carb at all. Has no nutritional value whatsoever. Eat the good stuff only that does the body good.

I'm doing this for health reasons. I developed an auto-immune disorder 2 years ago. Regardless of the medication, I had a relapse. It was at that point that I had an Ah HA moment and a nutritionist suggested that I remove white flour and sugar from my diet. Substituting it with as many organic (colorful) veggies as possible. You get used to it! For me it is not a diet, but a lifestyle. That's not to say I never give into temptation, however, it is very seldom and I hope that my continued good health is proof enough for me to stay motivated to keep on the right path.

5:22, when you say "Flour is n't a good carb at all. Has no nutritional value whatsoever" do you mean all flour, including whole wheat flour? I have been eating bread made from sprouted grains as opposed to whole wheat flour b/c it has more fibre, and i was wondering if there was more to it than just the fibre.

I have been on the no wheat diet for almost a year. It definitely works. I consume less sugar than I used to, but my main reduction/elimination has been wheat and gluten of all forms.

Yes it is not really a diet rather than just a great way to eat in general. It is basically sticking away from the 5 white poisons, that have all been linked to severe health conditions, weight problems, cancer, and many others. They are processed white flour, sugar, dairy, fat from red meat, and salt. Now wheat is great for you as long as it is 100% non enriched or bleached wheat. Wheat products contain glucose which is essential for building and maintaining muscle. Fruit of course is a must just not too much. Reading the ingredients is a good habit. When it comes to sugar avoid High Fructose corn syrup, Sucrose Glucose, Sucrose, Sugar. 100% cane sugar, cinnamon, honey are some good alternatives. Just as sweet honey and cinnamon are the best options, honey especially the health benefits from it are amazing. If your buying fruit juice or any pre-made vegetable sauce ( such as marinara) avoid tomato pastes or concentrates, it is a clever way for them to hide ingredients, some concentrates contain added sugar. An alternative to dairy is always soy milk, just make sure it is lactose free. Also avoid salt is the oldest preservative, also it dehydrates your body, which can make you think your hungry when your not. Also some good points on when you go shopping try avoiding products where the fat calories are more than half of the total calories, except some items like all natural peanut butter is great for you. Also be careful of trans-unsaturated and hi saturated fat foods, best fats are poly and mono-unsaturated fats. Substituting (replacing) saturated fats with unsaturated fats helps to lower levels of total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol in the blood. They are easier to burn off as well.

Just starting out!
I heard of the no flour, no sugar diet from my neighbor, who looks amazing for her age. She told me the basics to avoid, and I began the diet a month later, though I was skeptical. By the end of the first day, I noticed a marked increase in my energy levels throughout the day. I also noticed my mood was better (I'd been feeling so tired and foggy all the time!) The second day I felt even better, and on the third day when I put my work pants on, they fit better. Before when I would sit down, they would squeeze my middle so tightly it hurt. Now they are perfectly comfortable when I sit, no squeezing. I had also been feeling bloated and had some gastrointestinal upset prior to beginning this diet, and my doc recommended staying away from dairy for a while. I did that and no more bloating and retaining water. Instead of cow's milk I am drinking hemp milk, which is extremely high in Omega 3 and 6's, as well as complete digestible proteins. It doesn't have the gross aftertaste that soy milk does, the texture is similar to milk. The brand name is Living Harvest, and the vanilla flavor is the best. It's not very sweet, but not too bland either. My 3 and 1 year old boys both love it, and it complements my diet quite nicely. My husband and I have been making smoothies with it, fresh fruit and ice in the blender. It tastes like a treat and is a great way to put a spin on your fruit intake. I am eating tons more veggies than I have in my entire life (I'm 30). I snack on celery with peanut butter or almond butter (all natural--reg. PB has lots of sugar, watch out!) and sugar snap peas. I'm eating much more salad (no iceberg lettuce because it has no nutritional value--green leaf, red leaf and romaine are best) and use *maybe* a tablespoon of dressing to avoid adding too many extra calories. As for bread, I found an alternative. Silver Hills makes a no-flour sprouted grain bread called "Squirrely" bread. It's much drier than regular bread, but healthy and in compliance with this diet. You can still eat a grilled cheese sandwich and have toast in the mornings with your eggs, hooray! I changed my eating style completely overnight, have been on this diet 10 days and lost at least 5 pounds already, and that is without exercising. I plan to start an exercise program this week, and keep up with the diet. As far as cheating, I would bet that having a chocolate cookie or 1/2 cup of your favorite ice cream would be an OK reward for every full week you adhere to this diet. Watch out for sugar-free candies and chocolate, by the way, as they contain up to 50% saturated fat per serving, and are NOT healthy. Good luck, everyone!!!!

Hi I have been eating this way for several months to balance my hormones and I can tell you that I have never felt better! I actually eat NO wheat or sugar or artificial sweetners. I do not have a hard time with it. It is a way of eating I enjoy. Don't miss any of it! If you currently eat allot of junk, bread, packaged foods etc...it may be hard at first but once you get rid of all that is stored up in your system, it will be easy!

I don't believe that any diet where you cut specific foods out entirely, especially ones you enjoy, is a healthy way to live. If you love bread, pizza, and sugary things you are only going to feel deprived on this diet which will mean you will more than likely fail. Better to limit these things and learn to control your habits with them than cutting them out altogether.

I have to agree with waht the P.P. just said. If you cannot LIVE this way then it is not for you. I don't eat allot of that stuff anyways so I dont miss it. When I do want something really bad I have a little bit and call it good. Most of the time though, this works for me! You need to figure out what it is that you can live with. That is the trick to any healthy eating plan.

I've been sugar free for 5 weeks now. Lost about 15 lbs, no exercise. I've been wheat free for 4 years, and don't use white rice flour.
Sugar free is not easy. I missed ketchup till I made my own. I miss having a bison salami, smoked meat or turkey bacon sandwhich (the bread thing is easy- flax bread, almond bread, sprouted bread)
That being said, fruit is the only sugar I've had for 5 weeks- no honey, no molasses, no agave; just xylitol.

I love this way of living! i even have a super good chocolate recipe! Anyone interested?! Its easy. 1 Cup all-natural smuckers peanut butter, 2-100% cocoa chocolate cubes, and about a half a cup of honey. All you have to do is heat up the three ingredients with about a tablespoon of honey. simmer until mixed. poor into container and let cool. it tastes so good! and its no flour and no sugar!

No Sugar or White Flour
On Feb 12th, 2010 it will be one full month of me not having sugar or white flour. I would eat alot, I mean alot of processed sweets, white flour, and sugar. Now I feel and look so great. The cravings at times can be screaming at me but by the Grace of God I overcome them by not giving into it at all. I eat 100% whole wheat bread, watch for sugar content on it as well. The one I use has 1 gram of sugar called Natures Own Bread. This is the least amount of sugar in bread I was able to find. I have also cut out caffiene because I would enjoy it with flavored creamers and sugar all the time. The first 24 hrs of cutting all of this out I had an excruciating headache because of the withdrawal. Then I peed alot. It is a day by day process. I eat for the most part whatever I want with out those 2 ingredients. Bacon, eggs, potatoes, veges, apples and bananas (no high sugar fruit like pineapple and mango) For a hot treat I cut up bananas, apples, place them in a frying pan with some butter, then I'll put some oatmeal along with some vanilla extract and cinnamon, cook it all up till apples are tender and it is delicious!. I don't use any artificial sweetner at all. A friend of mine at work gave me a tea that I am forever grateful for. It's called Good Earth Caffiene Free Original Sweet & Spicy Herbal Tea. This tea is delicious, especially if you were a coffee drinker like me and enjoy a hot cup of something throughout the day. It's sweet because of the chicory root in it. I use no honey either. The Lord also blessed me with a treadmill. I now use it approx 1-2x a week for approx 30 min and I have been running in 1:10 min intervals 3x within that 30 min. My goal is to be at 165lbs in 6 months and I believe I am well on my way, thank You Jesus!. God bless you all in your endeavor.

I am new to this diet. I'm only on day three and was told the best way to start is to do a very strict week of atkins like dieting (including vegetables) and then ease back into whole grains and fruits. Has anyone else heard this?
So I am on day three, and I have NO energy. This morning I feel like I weigh 2 tons - it takes so much effort to move.

I find cutting out sugar and flour extremely beneficial to my health and in my weight loss endeavors, however, cutting out fruits like mango and pineapple in favor of bacon and potatoes doesn't make sense to me. I lose weight when I eat all natural foods, including fruit.

Eat to Live
Eat healthy foods (plants) 80% of the time and only rarely indulge in processed foods to feel great. This is a way to stay away from the flour and sugar while eating for nutrition so you feel great and have tons of energy. And yes, I can have chocolate and chips in moderation within that 20% guideline, I even have mac n cheese once in a while using quinoa whole grain pasta and organic cheese (or veggie slices.)

i dont know who recommended that you do it so strict the first week. i was told the fruit and grains are what give you the energy you need to stay on this diet.
I have done this diet. i was very successful. i lost 80lbs. when I started eating flour and sugar again, i started gaining again. Now, I just want to get back on the no flour no sugar diet. I felt so much happier and energetic. It is just hard to get through the first week. If you cut out the other stuff that you can have, you are just making it harder. (in my experience). I still lost weight fast but i felt better.

suggestions- try cutting your fat way down for three days. Aim for very little to no fat just for three days. Almost a mini fast. This should help you feel better and allow you to process any sugar and flour better. The reality is that there is sugar and flour in everything. Sometimes we get so obsessed with the "good fats" idea that we eat too much fat, thinking it is good. Our body can only process so much good fat at one time.

when i first attempted this diet i lost 12 lbs in a month no execise but it was very hard finding alternatives, mostly because i just really wanted to eat my mac n cheese and triple burgers and other really bad foods that i had become accustomed to over the years... this go round im losing 4lbs a week with light execise (i work alot in an office setting and rely alot on my wii fit and my treadmill) and its much easier because i know what to eat, im more knowledgeable about portions and this time i really WANT IT!
it can seem a lil intimidating but i dont eat anything with sugar wheat or flour or any of their forms and furthermore i think its fun finding new foods and recipes to incorporate. it helps that my two best friends have been in this lifestyle since 2001 and have successfully maintained their dramatic weightloss (from sizes 20+ to a 6 and an 8) and have been able to incorporate sugar and flour back into their lives in a healthy way and still maintain their weightloss with exercise.
for breakfast i eat alot of nuts, berries, fruit, eggs whites, natural apple sauce, oatmeal with pineapple, banana and other fruits to take the place of sweetners. i found a sausage with no dextrose that i bake with eggs, potatoes, cheese, onions and green peppers and have that for breakfast a few days because im usually on the go and dont have alot of time but realize that a healthy breakfast is very very important.
lunch and dinner are always interesting... i love swapping recipes and trying new foods. i go for alot of organic things and make trips to special markets... but if a busy week is coming up its the staples of salads with basalmic oil n vinegar as a dressing, steak or fish, mini turkey burgers with rice, kale or other fresh veggies, lean pork loins or chicken breasts, baked potatoes- theyre easy and tasty meals i can make quick and are filling and can take left overs for lunch. stay away from processed meats (sausages, deli meats, prepackaged etc) because they aaaall have a form of sugar in them, so fresh meats are much better.
People always comment that "i cant believe you can lose weight on those kinds of meals" when i eat with them but my friends and i are proof that you can and with exercise, portion control and creativity you can maintain it succesfully. i have less migraines, more energy and i just FEEL good now. why not try it? it's not for everyone but nothing in life is. my only word of advice would be if you are starting out make sure you have your meals planned out in advance because when you are hungry and dont know what u can have u get frustrated and will eat anything lol. You should NOT be hungry on this diet, and should not starve. every now and then i have something i absolutely should not but it hasnt negatively affected me so far and i see it as a reward for my dedication to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. everyone needs perks lol.

And yet the cheat program put Spelt in the unlimited side, and Spelt contains gluten, and can easily be turned into flour.

No sugar no flour
I've often wondered how true the statements of " eating no sugar, no wheat will cause weight loss, even without exercise" were, so I decided to test this theory. I have been sugar/flour free for 1 week not, and I'm simply amazed at how I feel and the weight loss (without exercise). I used to always need a nap at about 3 in the afternoon because I was so exhausted, but now I have so much more energy. I have also lost 6 pounds! I am so happy...I've struggled with my weight since the day I was born. I swear that I've tried EVER diet know to mankind, but with limited success. It's quite discouraging to stick with a diet for months (and kill yourself with rigorous cardio excercises) and have little to no weight loss. I'll admit that the thought of not eating sugar or flour seemed impossible but, take from me, it is VERY possible. I went from eating "healthy" cereal and milk for breakfast to plain yogurt and apple slices or egg white omelettes. Lunch, dinner and snacks are mainly veggies, lean protein/poultry and nuts/seeds. I am a French-Canadian who LOVES sweets...pies, cookies, cakes. If it had sugar and flour, it was in my diet. Not anymore. My eyes are wide open now. If you've been wondering if this plan could work for you, give it a try for a week or two. What do you have to loose, but excess weight?!

No sugar or White Flour Diet
I began this diet in March of 2015 and I was 288 lbs. and in November 2014 I weighed 305 lbs. and was 28 at the time. I also went and got a gym membership and started working out just 2 days a week mainly focusing on cardio (ex. walking, treadmill, bikes, and low weights for legs). As the next month went by I was down 30 lbs. So kept at it eating a lot of protein ex. Grilled chicken breast, steak, beef jerky, etc. and in took more vegetables like broccoli and asparagus and drank nothing but lots of water and unsweetened tea. In the next couple weeks I also started walking on my breaks at work and was about a mile each time and did that 5 days a week and the pounds started to drop. I also upped my time and days at the gym to 1-2 hours 4-5 days a week and added for weight workouts to my regimen. I was also playing drop in hockey 1-3 times a week in June and July. I weighed myself in at the end of July and I weighed 192 pounds. Which was over a hundred pound drop in about 8 months but less than 6 with hard work and a great diet. I suffered a severe head injury in November 2015 and am now back to 265 lbs. since my head injury and now having seizures prevents me from being able to work out and have developed poor eating habits. So this diet with small or moderate to heavy exercise you can achieve great success. I hope this helps. Good luck to you.
